Has Microsoft been a little short sighted? Whatever your views on the two rival consoles are at the moment, it's safe to say that the major difference between the 360 and the PS3 is the fact that Microsoft's console lacks the storage space that Bluray provides. In terms of technical capabilities both the PS3 and the 360 are on a pretty level pegging but as the console generation stretches into the distance, with no end in sight, will Microsoft eventually start feeling ...

Can Uncharted 2 help make 2009 the year the PS3 beats the 360? Far be it for me to highlight the elephant in the room, but as the Internet goes totally mental over PS3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, it seems the limelight usually reserved for the 360 has been cannily shifted. That’s not to say that the 360 hasn’t got some great games on their way this fall, but you have to admit, the focus on the PSPGO!, PS3 Slim and ...

Since I've spent the last few months planning a two part feature on storytelling, I couldn't help but dwell on the fact that Heavy Rain, the PS3-exclusive title from Quantic Dream, is aggressively focused on changing the way we look at this in videogames. If we lived in a perfect world here’s what we’d do… Making the choice over what console to purchase is a big deal. It’s usually a hard choice to make and will define the sorts of gaming experiences you have over the course of the generation. Some people are lucky (read: greedy) and buy everything, but the majority of people don’t have that luxury. Even though Microsoft has done a stellar job making sure the 360 is home to the most comprehensive list of games - thank you for Final Fantasy ...

Despite being a single format mag, we're hardcore gamers at heart and generally can't resist playing every game on every system. It's just hard wired into us (we're crazy like that). As such, when we heard that Ghostbusters: The Videogame was delayed on the 360 (because of some dubious Sony wrangling) we were dissapointed. But that doesn't mean we wouldn't attempt to give it a go on the PS3. And we're happy to report that Ghostbuster's is a surprisingly solid game. If ...

We know it's not on Xbox 360, but a project by Sony's in-house Japanese studio Team ICO is more than worthy of note, regardless of what format we usually cover. Today, a leaked proof-of-concept trailer emerged on PlayStationLifestyle.net, unveiling the team's new PS3 title, Project Trico. The video shows a large, flying cat-like creature chasing a small boy through some ruins (including a snapshot of the giant chain seen on Team ICO's recruitment page), before it's revealed that the creature is, in fact, friendly. We then see a montage of the creature helping the boy navigate a series of ICO/Shadow of the Colossus-style environments, to the sounds of a notoriously Team ICO-esque score.
