What was 2009′s most overrated game?

Pessimism makes the world go round

14Pessimism makes the world go round. Let’s take our positive hats off for a second and ask, which games received a little too much praise this year? Even the most shocking choices are welcome…

My personal choice is Batman: Arkham Asylum. Hailed as the second coming of the action-adventure by some critics, labeled a BioShock beater by others, I enjoyed Rocksteady’s adaptation of the universe, but found its lack of ideas a little irritating. Plus, the last four hours are nowhere near as good as the first eight; perching on Gargoyles got extremely old, as did the rhythm-based combat, absent of depth as it was.

I’d also slap Assassin’s Creed II in there, too. It’s well structured, sure, but it also carries many of the flaws that its predecessor did.

Still, I want to hear your choices – did any of our high scores upset you, this year? Share!

To be honest i didn’t really think much of Modern Warfare 2. I know, that’ll probably get me killed, but it seemed fairlyy average to me.

Totally disagree with Sam’s views on Assassins Creed 2 and Batman. Most overrated would have to be Street Fighter IV and Forza 3.

ODST. Modern Warfare 2, while it’s campaign was short, it still offered epic moments, and Spec-Ops is fun, fun, FUN to play with a friend, and the MP is very fast paced and allows a great deal of customization. ODST, on the other hand, barely had any real change in terms of gameplay from Halo 3. All they did was go backwards a bit to the HALO CE health/shield system, add some suppressed weapons, a new MP mode that was a straight-up copy of GoW2′s Horde Mode (seriously, Bungie has lost all originality) and a slow and pointless campaign, hindered even more by the fact that it was just a prequel story.

I found that Batman:Arkham Asylum,Halo 3:ODST,and Assassins Creed 2 where all fantastic games but they all had zero replay value
