ToeJam And Earl Confirmed For XBLA

Happy then swiftly depressing news came this morning as it emerged Sega had given the green light for Mega Drive classic ToeJam & Earl to appear on Live Arcade as part of their Classics Collection. Happy because for one fleeting second we thought it might be the quite excellent second series entry, ToeJam And Earl In: Panic On Funkotron, rather than the treasure hunt original that’ll actually see the light of day. We can remember switching the original title for about ten seconds some years ago, but its sequel, though just a regular two dimensional platformer, thrilled our useful selves with brilliantly realised comedy starring the hapless duo. Until that arrives…bah!

It’s good to know that there are people out there who prefer the second title. Usually it’s the other way around. The two games are so different that people are often polarized. Well thanks for the vote of confidence in game 2. I can’t say for sure what Sega is going to do, but I believe both game 1 and 2 are going to be made available on XBLA. That is is Sega ever gets around to turning their attention to the agreement with the developer. (Moi). They don’t seem to be in much of a hurry. :)

Is this for real? Ive been waiting for the original for many many years, the 2nd is fun, but in no way comes close to capturing the magic of hunting rocketship pieces while being chased by boogeymen and phantom icecream trucks.

Hurry up microsoft, i got chickens need some tomatoes.
