The Secret Of Monkey Island: Special EditionIt’s no secret that we’re fans of the Monkey Island games here on X360. We all pretty much grew up playing at least one of them and we all had a little bit of a celebration (plus some grog) when we heard the news that it was making its way to Live in the form of a special edition revamped version. How long have we dreamed of this moment?!

Well, it’s release is finally upon us and we’ve had a chance to get reacquainted with Guybrush and his new art style and it’s safe to say we’ve fallen in love all over again. Was it really going to be any other way?  One of the greatest things the new Monkey Island does is allow you to switch on the fly between the new game and the old. At any moment simply press a button and go back in time. It’s just a shame you can’t play the old version with the voice acting (which, as usual is superb).

This feels like a little bit of gaming history and LucasArts are finally realising that these adventure games deserve to have pride of place on the new consoles. If you’ve never played an adventure game The Secret Of Monkey Island is the perfect place to start.
