IDIOTS! #1: 24 Season 7

Welcome to the first of which I hope to be many posts regarding ‘idiots’! In short it’ll be nothing more than a rant about something frivolous that’s wound me up. Furthermore, it won’t always be about games. Controversial…

To start, I want to turn my attention to 24. While seasons 1-6 were excellent, the seventh entry has lost its way entirely. The whole gimmick of 24 was its real-time clock. Jack Bauer said he was going to be somewhere in 10 minutes and low and behold 10 minutes later in walks Mr Bauer. Cue a silenced wave of appreciation from the audience.

Now, however, the whole thing has become ludicrous. Tony Almeida will be in Los Angeles, mention he needs to be in New York and what do you know!? 12 minutes later he arrives simply saying ‘alright’ to those greeting him as if we’re to forget he’s just broken the basics laws of the universe. Add-in that Bauer doesn’t kill anyone anymore and just has the odd nuclear weapon based seizure and 24 has dried up. Therefore, 24, you’re an IDIOT!
