ALL_Xbx360VidGmSys_PS_2We all know the Red Ring of Death has been a long-running problem with the 360 console, but I’m interested in finding out how it’s affected you, the reader. Since the 360′s launch in late 2005, how many 360s have died in your ownership?

My 360 died in September, last year. Since Microsoft’s customer service is excellent, fast and helpful, I got a replacement unit just days after sending it off. Dave Shaw, who sits next to me, however, has gone through four.

im currently on my third, although i broke my second after getting in a bit of temper by dropping after i started picking up things to throw, so my fault really

and i dont really agree with you about microsoft’s customer support after they failed twice to pick up my 360 and due to the fact every single person in their call centre’s can barely speak english, but thats my view

I am on my 8th now! I got the launch console and that had to go back 6 times(RROD x5, DVD drive x1, then being fed up with this RROD I decided to sink some cash into an elite! but that has been back twice as well 1st time was due to the graphics card second time was when I received it back from MS fixing my graphics card it turned out they had not seated something correctly thus causing me some red rings!

But at the end of the day despite all this, I still continue on with my beloved 360 =D I have to say the customer service for this before they recognized the RROD as a major fault and gave the extended 3years warranty was appalling, but since the changes I would rate the customer server as excellent (compared to what it used to be)

I am now on my fifth 360. I had my first three in about 2 years, then i had another one repaired and then when it broke again i couldn’t be bothered with microsoft customer support so i just decided to buy an elite

Surprisingly im still on my 1st xbox 360. I have had 7 error messages though and they really annoy me. When I was on the last days of my warranty I found a cure(solution whatever)for the error messages.

I’m on my 2nd console, i bought a launch console, which red ringed so i sent it away for repair and bought an elite then sold the other one when it came back from MS. The elite is still going strong.
