Forza 3 Stirs Up The Hornets Nest
On your marks..

On your marks… get set… go!
Forza 3 developer, Turn 10, has been responding to a whole host of allegations recently, and at the same time has been making some quite astounding statements of its own.
Since the release of the Forza 3 demo onto Xbox Live, the general consensus of the Internet (read, forum bloggers) is that the game isn’t quite up to snuff in terms of its visuals. The inevitable comparisons with Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5, or Prologue to be precise, have risen their ugly head and Turn 10 has been forced to defend its game.

What’s more amazing is that Turn 10’s Dan Greenawalt told gaming website xbox360achievements.org, that Forza 3 is beyond anything else on the market by a few years. It’s a bold statement. Problem is, the community and Greenawalt are actually talking about two different things.

Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
While its easy for the average gamer to take one look at Forza 3 and come to the conclusion that it just doesn’t look as good as other racers, Greenawalt is viewing the game from a purely technical stand point. In that sense Forza 3 is pushing around some impressive statistics, meaning it’s an incredibly realistic simulation. In that respect, it may well be a few years ahead of the competition, but that’s not what gamers are seeing on their screens.
It’s not even that Forza 3 looks bad either, it looks amazing, its just that it could look more photo-realistic and less like a game. It’s a pretty moot point anyway as both racing titles are console exclusive.
