Confessions Of A Model Citizen

Bringing games to life… the geeky way

Playing a lot of videogames is all well and good, but taking the ‘hobby’ out of the virtual world and into the real can sometimes be a very risky proposition. Someone might see for a start. But, that’s not likely to stop me and if you’re anything like me, small plastic models of videogame characters will be irresistible. I’ve got a few characters adorning my desk, but with each new game that’s released there seems to be a new one. Complete with lots of geeky intricate detail and miniature weapons I find hard to resist.

It’s an obsession I know, and probably not that healthy, but I don’t care. Play.com has a great range of these models and I really can’t help myself. Whenever I see a developer interview, usually at their desk on a dev diary or something, they usually have an office covered in all sorts of models. This usually vindicates my modest collection and makes me feel much better, after all they’re the creative ones, if they can have some geeky looking toys, why can’t I?

If you’re interested in buying some of these I’d recommend heading over to Play.com. Just be careful, once you start, it’s very difficult to stop.

Just for you Bomby, because you asked nicely, here’s my toy range lined up on my desk. I’ve got a few movie and TV ones thrown in there too, but can anyone spot the creepy Little Sister? She scares me.

I couldn’t have anything like this in my house, my kids would destroy it within a week. I couldn’t put them on my desk at work either, I get enough grief about being a nerd as it is.
