WET – Slippery when, and so on
Just because it was the last title from the Activision-Blizzard fallout to be picked up, WET doesn’t deserve to be ignored. Just because the graphics are mainly brown and lack detail, WET doesn’t deserve to be ignored. Just because the developer, A2M, made the atrocious, licence-tainting Indiana Jones & The Staff of Kings, WET doesn’t deserve to be ignored. Sorry, I irritated even myself when I was generating that hollow repetition-for-effect spew, but this should give you an idea of the internal conflict that you’ll experience when playing WET.
The game’s combo-based structure, incorporating protagonist Rubi’s katana, guns and bullet-time capabilities make it a trashy but entertaining experience, though the current lack of leaderboards – a shame, given the point-based focus of the action – may shorten the lifespan, somewhat. We’ll have more on WET in our August issue.
WET, from Bethesda and A2M, will be out later in the year.
