Pandemic Studios Rumoured To Close

Bad news everyone!

In what has to be the worst news of the month so far, rumours have begun spreading from a post over on Kotaku that EA has closed Pandemic Studios. Pandemic is currently working on The Saboteur, which has recently been finished, and made its name making big blockbuster games. Star Wars: Battlefront and the Mercenaries games were the sort of destruction-heavy titles that it specialised in, and its output rarely dropped below excellent. If this news turns out to be correct, the industry would have lost one of its most promising studios. EA had warned earlier in the month that it was axing a number of jobs, but it comes as a surprise to everyone that any would come from Pandemic. Who’s going to make Star Wars: Battlefront III now?
