After being covered on practically every major news outlet yesterday, Modern Warfare has unsurprisingly gone on to sell an estimated 1.23 million copies in the UK alone. That’s just its first day remember, and eclipses the previous record, held by GTAIV with 631,000. We think you’ll agree, that’s quite a significant jump. You may remember that yesterday we totaled the number of people on our Friends Lists playing the game? At the time, we sent a congratulatory message to the one soul playing Peggle in a sea of war and testosterone. His response? “lol….my modern warfare copy has not turned up….blasted postman”.
Turns out all of the publishers who bailed into the first half of 2010 were correct all along then…
