Poor mini-games mixed with horrible controls and the worst ‘host’ ever – the best way to describe Fuzion Frenzy 2.

We at X360 have a piece of advice we want everyone to adhere to from now on: never let an annoying, cringeworthy man commentate over the top of any game… ever. No one’s perfect, we know, but the effect this man has will be the equivalent of a trained assassin administrating the killer blow. Need proof? Let’s have a little look at Fuzion Frenzy 2.

Never before have we been so perplexed by a videogame. We’re sure that mini-games are supposed to be fun, but every game in Fuzion Frenzy is extremely fiddly, unexciting and, above all else, bizarre. Sure, there’s a wide variety on offer, but nearly every one is appalling. Some are far too sensitive to control whereas others aren’t sensitive enough, and a few don’t even make sense. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking it gets better as time goes on either; there’s absolutely nothing to be gained from spending time with it. Why? Because Frenzy has a fetish for screwing people over at every opportunity thanks to its atrocious card system. Cards can be used that’ll affect rounds in certain ways – they may double your final score or give you first dibs on what the next mini-game is. Unfortunately, using these cards is pointless. Imagine you’ve placed a ‘x6
card’; well, you can bet your ass that someone else will lay a ‘reverse effect’ card that cripples your score and costs you the round – brilliant!

Fuzion Frenzy 2 fails to make amends in its multiplayer either, the very thing it tries to encourage. Why it boasts itself as a party game is a real mystery to us; we’re fairly confident that whipping it out (steady) at a social gathering would result in the said gathering dying a rather quick and painful death as four people suffer simultaneously.

Of course, we’d be doing a disservice if we didn’t mention our pal the DJ. To be blunt, we hate him. Regardless of the situation, he never shuts up. It’s not like he’s saying anything of merit either. Constant questions like “How’s it going player one?” are so inane you’ll consider burning your own ears just so he’s no longer audible.

Even with online play, we really can’t recommend Fuzion Frenzy 2 on any level. The mini-games are poor, the AI is medically insane and terrible design choices mean it can actually become incredibly frustrating. We can safely say you’ve only got yourself to blame if you decide to spend £30 of your hardearned cash on this.
