Had a very quick go very late last night i didn't really pay any attention to the tutorial or what I was supposed to be doing but it seems pretty cool, i like the blade control &
slashing guys up into bits is fun!.
But you can tell its gonna be a very linear experience that probably wont raise any bars or fill any voids till MGS5.
The thing is no matter how cool you are or how flash the gameplay is you just cant beat playing as Snake can you?....
Yeah, I gave it a play earlier today. First thoughts on the blade control were kinda the opposite though, it just seemed like frantically wobbling the right stick about to slash (because it is) and I'm not sure yet if it's that accurate. Suppose practice and time will show in regards to that though.
As for the rest, it felt like Bayo with a metal gear paint job even more than I expected; the (non blade swishing) controls are pretty much the same bar a few minor bits, the combos seemed to have the same timing and flow and the graphics engine is clearly identical. There were even a few character models which were clearly from Bayonetta (again, different paint jobs).
Not saying any of that's a bad thing, just sayin really.
Overall I think it should be alright, it's kinda hard to tell with the demo as there are clearly powers and lots of moves which aren't unlocked yet so you only get a feel of the basics and the blade stuff is either gonna take practice to master or be a bit shit and just in there because they can.
Deffo think I'll get it at some point just because of how much it feels like Bayonetta and I love that combat engine but not sure how the Metal Gear fanbase will receive it.
