I rented the A Game of Thrones RPG and I didn't want to start a thread for it because it looks horrible, combat is mediocre and the only saving grace is the mildly interesting story and the fact it's set in the A Game of Thrones universe.

I'll be giving this a miss then...

It's Dragon Age Origins with a crippling budget.

They need to get Bethesda to make any Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings games from now on. All anybody wants is a Skyrim clone in their respective universes so they need to stop released mediocre attempts like this and just us something amazing.

A Game of Thrones Skyrim clone is truly all I want at this stage and it really is the only way to do it justice at the same time.

At the same time though, I think The Witcher 2 is probably the closest thing to A Game of Thrones style political fantasy we've seen in video games, minus the incest. Its got the maturity plus the exploration of consequences that I think is obviously the kind of thing you want in a GoT's rpg. Of course, if they could couple that with a Skyrim style open world...I'm all in.

I forgot about CD Projekt, mind there off making a cyber-punk sci-fi FPS or something!

More people speak Klingon?

Reminds me of this story from a while back...

The BBC wrote:Image
When officials asked for the Welsh translation of a road sign, they thought the reply was what they needed.
Unfortunately, the e-mail response to Swansea council said in Welsh: "I am not in the office at the moment. Send any work to be translated".
So that was what went up under the English version which barred lorries from a road near a supermarket.

Not sure where to put this, so I'll stick it in here. Microsoft are having a Games on Demand sale where quite a few titles are 75% off (see link for a full list) which brings them down to roughly the same price as you'd pay in a shop for a preowned copy. Most are around $4.99 which I think works out at about 400 MSP.

There is a thread for bargain stuff here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2218&p=247051#p247051

And you were the last person to post in it, Selkie! Please try to pay more attention or Bob will get a strop on.*

Nothing on that list which interests me, thanks for the info tho.

* or is that a strap on?

Thank f*ck for the contactless payment widget that Barclaycard sent to stick on the back of my phone. It meant that I could quell the hunger pangs tonight, despite forgetting to take any cash or cards with me.

Now if only more places would take it, I could have avoided McD's.

Me neither.. is it even applicable to the UK?

Still, nice to see them getting vaguely realisitic on the price of old titles.. I hope that a huge sales spike shows what they could be making if they where sensible.

I think it's very important to keep older games on the shelves where people can discover them.. Imagine not being able to buy The White Album by the Beatles..
