Forgot about those rumours! Don't forget this whole "no used games" bollocks as well. If the new console had either of these 3 things I wouldn't get one.

It will not happen, it'd be the mother of all stupid ideas. Don't pay attention to internet rumours, as CT once said " The internet is an idiot".

If the 720 has/is :-

Under £200
Fully Backwards Compatible (including gamerscore)
Take discs including 2nd hand ones
reliable
doesn't have kinect built in or any other bollocks like that

I will buy one in the first year.

I think my money is safe

If the console was under £200 it can have three Kinects attached to it for all I care.

Given that I need to get two of every console, one for me and the missus and one for our son I'm hoping it isn't going to be any more than £300.

We'd probably end up with at least 2...

At what price would you not buy more than one?

A tricky question indeed, due to the fact that I've never had to buy a console as even the 360 upon which I play today I've had for the past 3 years as a crimbo prezzy before I moved into my flat (Thanks to mudbone 72.) Having said that I think I'd still pay anything up to £450 for the 720 provided I didn't have to shell out for a multitude of peripherals too. It's great that the new 360 comes with a big hard drive and built in wireless, but when the original 360 came out not only was a console expensive you had all of those things to buy as well, definitely an investment but costly all in one go!

Having said all that it we all know it doesn't really matter what price tag they slap on it cause we all know no matter what moral standpoint we take, deep down inside, you'll compromise your integrity to purchase one!

The PS3 was scuppered by its asking price of £424. I don't think MS will make that mistake.

Ya one of the reasons I chose MS over Sony was the price of the consoles.

Yeah.. they'll do what they did with 360 and sell you the console at a bargain price and then stitch you for a plug n play kit, leave off vital features like a HMDI socket and wi-fi until later in it's life span so you can buy another 'slim' model and then make sure that instead of using something like blutooth all the accessories need to be genuine M$ to connect to your beloved console.

Don't be silly Johnny. No one's saying that. Let's just not pretend it's excellent value. Or was at launch anyway.
