I presume you're referring to the artist Leonardo Da Vinci, who was born out of wedlock and thus had no surname, simply being called Leonardo from Vinci or Leonardo son of Piero. Calling yourself Da Vinci by comparison is as bad as being Dan Brown and writing a book for thick people.
