Yeah. It's hardly teh same as watching it at the cinema either is the point..

I just think calling you home set up a 'Home Cinema' is a bit.. erm.. wanky. It's a TV really. No matter how big it is. Or how many speakers you attach to it. A good one maybe.. but still a telly.

Its a term, but its obviously not going to be as big as a cinema, hence the word "Home" in there.

Besides a larger screen most cinema's dont offer much more, and all the downsides to going to the cinema dont warrant just being able to watch it at a slightly larger scale.

Slightly larger scale?? Lol.

You keep telling yourself it's a home cinema. I'll keep calling it what it is.

Completely agree with Bob, the experience of seeing something in the cinema is completely different so seeing something on your wall, especially in IMAX.

The IMAX experience is the exception, but ur bog standard cineama is dead to me, the negatives out weigh the one positive.

If you really think that, then you're an idiot.

The trailer is better than the film...FACT.

I think it's more a case these days that the trailers nearly always contain all the best bits.. Which sometimes leaves the film feeling a bit hollow.

Comedy's being the most obvious examples where the only bits that have you laughing are already in the trailer. I think Avengers was surprisingly smart and almost all of its best bits didn't find their way into the trailers.

Hope Gug doesn't mind

I thought we could discuss the plot in this thread now with spoliers and keep it out of the movie discussion.

Ok so what I'd like to know is..

Regarding the Fassbender android.. was there any need for him to be evil/undercover mirroring the character in Alien. Surely the old boy financing the operation (Guy Pearce) could've just gone along for the ride anyway and then uncovered his true purpose on his own?

Was there any need for him to poison the boyfriend guy with the black gunk? It didn't seem to serve any purpose. Did he know that they'd have sex and that would result in a pregnancy? Surely the infection was far more likely to occur from the geologist and his mate getting the tentacle thing down their throats? And how come they left first and got lost?

Why did the medical thing not work on women in a multi-sex crew especially as it seemed to be in Therzon's lifeboat bit?

Why did neither of the chicks think to run sideways out of the way of the giant ship trying to roll them over?

What did the bird hope to accomplish with the axe?

What was the point of the little snake thing scene? Apart from adding some horror?

I'm sure I'll think of more.
