All that proves is that loads of gamers voted in the poll

Scrutinised for what? Half the games on my shelf are EA and they're almost always better made and polished than the competition.

The BASTARDS.

For their money-grabbing ways, not to count their game-nerfing ways. In it for the money and all that, aggressive DLC plans which punish the consumer and yearly copycat Sports titles which take things away one year only to charge you for it again the next. Oh, and charging people for 'quick' unlocks. The fact that any of their games have been fun despite this is amazing.

Problem is people who voted on that poll all own EA games, if you feel that strongly stop buying their products, vote with your cash or shut up.

I posted a few days ago on RetroGamer forum that there were plenty of things that would put a company much further up my hitlist, such as ones that cause environmental harm, engage workers on unethical terms (either locally or when outsourcing to countries in the developing world), sell harmful products, engage in illegal activity, fraud or tax evasion, etc. Those kinds of trivial things. Not to say EA are necessarily entirely squeaky clean in all of those aspects, but that fact is that I don't know - and probably neither do most of the people that voted them all the way to this award.

Let's face it, if you didn't buy EA's games, they wouldn't negatively impact upon your life. There are plenty of companies out there that do, and you can't do a damned thing about it. All you have to do with EA is, as others have already said here, keep that cash in your wallet.

News International would get my vote the way things are going. I like almost every EA game I've ever played so I don't have any problems with them.

Yeah, the stuff NOTW et al pulled just goes to prove what I've always suspected about such rags and why I've never given them my money. The shit Murdoch pulled was fucking reprehensible.

Naturally he'll get off without so much as a slapped wrist. These bastards always do.

I dont agree with all what EA do and they certainly aren't alone with the current codes and DLC culture, but modern gamers are spoilt little shits, who have no perspective or appreciation for how far gaming has come.

Put them back infront of a C64 or spectrum for a few weeks that'll give some understanding.

It says something when bastard bankers can pull the rug from under our entire culture and get away with it and EA get battered over DLC and are somehow worse.

News of the World/ Murdoch was worse than EA too but most young gamers don't tear themselves away from their screens to look at the bigger picture.

Mind you I was a bit like that back in the day
My conviction is born to damn the fuckers who doubted me. To rise to great heights even beyond my own legend as a Great Cocksmith, Master Pintsman, and stunningly handsome Prince of Light in these dark Dark Ages!

I don't think this list was factual, it was just a bit of fun and stuck up finger to a corporation. There are, of course, many businesses that could go above it.

Indeed. I have a hatrid for eBay and Amazon lately... these large companies don't give a crap about one customer that they treat unfairly.
