As for the second bit I take it he means PS3.. you know he's pretty not clever.

I'm still working my way through the big 2011/2012 releases and PS3 exclusives that I've missed to be worrying about anything else. And yes, 'wooda is pretty not clever. He thought the first half of Crysis 2 was good, after all :P

Well I've come to the conclusion that while my taste is still definitive it's not hurting me if other people don't agree.

Having known and discussed many things with you for a good four years now, I feel - as your friend - that I can safely say that you might need to put a bit more effort into putting that point across in future discussions.

I think the re-releases are still going ahead because Sega have gotten Insert Coin to make some T-shirts for them all. I doubt Sega would make the shirts if they weren't gonna re-release the games.

I can't remember the last SEGA game I played.

Come to think of it I can't think of the last SEGA game I wanted to play either. :?

Sonic Generations was good, if a little short.

I think most people have become so accustomed to shooters featuring mass large scale spectacle their too busy molstering themselves to even care about pacing. Not having a visual and gameplay set piece nuke dropped very early on followed by variants of the same thing throughout made a pleasant change. It gave in-game events a much better feel of evolutionary scale which isn't seen that often in shooters.

Crysis 2 starts out with Alcatraz (playable character) clueless as to what he's been thrown into. It would have made no sense for Crytek to immediately throw heaven and hell at the player and have him go charging in like the Master Chief. Crytek would've had to account for a lot of console gamers not playing the first game as well. That said, I did feel Crysis 2's opening stages were a little too stretched out whilst I was playing. In hindsight of the complete game afterwards, I don't think its anywhere near as bad as most make it out to be.

I knew if I waited around long enough you'd prove my point.

Did Sly turn up btw?

Not yet. I'm sure Mrs VA will text me if it turns up today though.

And Sonic Generations is good.

Sonic Generations was fine. Apart from all of that wall sticking nonsense towards the end. Best Sonic title since Adventure (and, if my head dictates rather than the heart), Sonic & Knuckles.

Oh yeah overall Crysys 2 is a great game. I'm not one for kersplosions just the sake of having a set piece and much prefer the more strategic approach. I thought that just before the half way point there was one or two areas which felt a bit mundane. And one of the best things about Crysis 2 is the freedom of choice, you could go in all guns blazing if you wanted to.
