This is the way the game is for a a large chunk after the demo too. There is even a very breif section where you can shoot out the side of a...spaceship thing .. as it lands.

And you know this becasaaause?...

How large a chunk roughly?

I can live with it if its an Eden Prime - Citadel size chunk.

Mass Effect 3 is going to space

To promote Mass Effect 3, EA is going to launch copies of the game into space; catch one on re-entry and it’s yours to keep.

USA Today reports EA will send Mass Effect 3 into the upper reaches by means of weather balloons launched in New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris.

Each space-faring unit will be fitted with a GPS tracker, allowing hopeful Commander Shepards to follow their return to Earth. If one lands near your house, leg it – you could be one of the first in the world to be playing the full game.

Follow the brave astronautical games on the Mass Effect website. For those unlucky enough not to live near a re-entry point, Mass Effect 3 releases on March 6 in the US, March 8 in Australia, and March 9 in Europe, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I don't want to spoil things, nor do I want to be qeueing up at the local job centre next week.. so I'll just say that apart from a pause or two there is a lot of going from one battle to another.

I didn't mean specific details as I wouldn't expect you to compromise your job or give away spoilers.

That makes the game sound more rts than rpg. I mean, jumping round the galatic map and prioritisng battles being like jumping from battle to battle in a rts game. With the entire galaxy being under attack it does make sense and a high amount of action shoot outs would justify the mp component. The second game had more in the way of polish but its the originals balance of exploration versus action which makes it the better game overall, imo.

I want to be able to explore stuff as well but the more I hear, the more it sounds like Bioware have painted themselves into a corner, tbh.

Yer Mass Effect 1 was like KOTOR in the way you really felt like you was being taken on a journey and the exploration of planets really helped flesh out the universe, I was hoping Mass Effect 3 was going to be a return to this, but sounds like its carrying on from ME2 with the fire fights which is a shame, but this being Bioware I still think this game will be incredible, can't wait.

The man still signed a contract Apollo, I'm sure you can live with wait and see...

@Dante out of curiosity how does one become a play tester?

Obviously! As I said, I wouldn't expect him or anyone else to jepardise their self just to satisfy my curiosity. I was, perhaps, a little too specifc with my question. But all Dante had to say was Me3 is more like Me1than Me2 or vice versa or that he couldn't comment.

Agreed. The thought of a planet hopping 'Gears of War' with greater customisation and stronger story just doesn't fill me with massive amounts of confidence at the moment.

It's definately, in terms of gameplay and exploration-to-shooting ratio, much more like ME2 than the first one. The Normandy can literally be chased across the Galaxy Map by Reapers now which is an indication of it's pacing.

Generally you can go to the website of any specific company you like and they will have a jobs section, or at least point you in the direction of an agency that deals with the applications.

I dunno, I waver on this. On the one hand I want more 'sploring, less bang-bang, but on the other I understand that this is the end of the trilogy and wandering off to collect Spasmatron from the planet Whatoosie in my dune buggy while the earth is being roasted alive, would be out of context.

(However, earlier today I read a spoiler regarding a new character that made me want to punch the screen in for the obviousness and the stupdity of it)

(Also, also - WHY IS ASHLEY WILLIAMS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND WHITE?)
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

That's exactly how I feel. I was hoping Bioware would add more exploration than Me2 but this time it wouldn't be without consequence.
