You obviously don't understand how Valve works as a developer...

Do they work?, I don't think it can ever live up to the hype. The gaming world has moved on a hell of a lot since half life, I think
They'd need to come out with something that relies on more than nostalgia to be up there with the cod and battlefield market.

Really? Half-Life 2 and the episodes still hold up well gameplay wise. It could be a refreshing change to the cod and bf market.

Ohh I agree, I'm talking about the way the fps market is geared now, and how things have changed within this genera.

I think there is defo room for another Half-Life game, when comes the time there is not, gaming will be dead to me. :(

My guessing is that the PC will be the lead platform, and PC users will spunk .exe at stuff like this.

Every time, and I mean EVERY time Valve releases a game, the rest of the world spends 6 years trying to catch up. That's all I have to say on the matter. They make Rockstar Games look like game development: playschool edition.

Also...

Hype? What hype?

Just done some research on this.

It's a fake, though much of the - so-called - gaming press, bloggites mainly, have failed to do their research, to look up who owns the domain, or even to get Valve on the telephone and just ask them straight up. Seems there's something of value in being legitimate games press after all.

Sorry to break it to you all, but it's a hoax.

If it helps, I'm as gutted as you are.

Hype, i probably should of said anticipation, Valve are an incredible developer but if they want the FPS crown back they must know they are gonna have to seriously raise the bar.

If you take Rage as an example, coming from a developer like I.D with all the history & gravitas they bring, Rage wasn't anything to write home about & certainly didn't put them back on top.

I'm not saying this will happen with Valve and half life, all i'm saying is current expectations for games are incredibly high, and with the added pressure of this game been in the works for soooo
long I think its got a mountain to climb.
