It's not in mine.

Think I'll wait and see to be honest. If things go anything like they did with the 360 I'll probably wait 'till around the first price drop when developers are actually getting something out of the tech and releasing games worth investing in a new console to play. That way I won't be shelling out more than I need just to have a new box sat there waiting for decent games.

Personally I'd say no, As I'd rather wait for the first price drop and a bigger selection of games to chose from, But the advantage of having a gamer son, Is that he might just pester me so much into buying the new console at Xmas. That would be a real bummer!

I was nearly a year late to the 360 just because at the time I had a shitty retail job whilst in college and couldn't afford it. But now... things are different and I would look forward to experiencing a console release for once.

Never bought a console on release but id consider it if the launch titles looked good and the price wasnt too much.If it was backwards compatible, id consider it even more.

Its best to wait a few months before picking one up, as they drop so steeply in price, but would be nice to experience a day 1 opening.

And really after the whole RRoD thing it might be better to let them iron out the bugs.

I'll be waiting for a price drop, till all the bugs are sorted and till there are some decent titles that I'm interested in. Cos if its Assassins Creed 5, Forza 5,Gears of War 4 and Kinect Sports 3, I'm not that bovvered tbh.

If one of em is Half-Life 3, you can colour me interested tho.

Didn't buy a 360 or an original X-Box at Launch matey.. nor my Gamecube or my PSone or my Saturn.. In fact the only one I bought at launch was a PS2 and I didn't buy a game for that for over a year such was the rubbish launch games.

Same here Bobertron. It will be more of a financial thing for me so it won't be like I will have a choice even if it is the best thing EVAR, but who knows what my financial situation will be like come launch. I always tend to take a step back with any new tech, let the dust settle and see if it is still the mutts nutz.

If the next-box is backwards compatible, it would surely help this as you could keep playing the old gen games whilst picking up the occasional new titles.
Will it have a blu-ray player though?

As Johnny says, it's more about the financial situation I'm in than owt else. If I could afford it I'd love a shiny new console at launch but just can't see it happening. If I was still earning what I was last year then I'd go for it but not having the money is making me have to look at it more sensibly and in reality the price will drop quickly and about that time there should be some decent releases.

In a way it's good that I don't have the money to throw around at launch, it helps me avoid the hype and go about things sensibly...

On the other hand, not having money sucks and I want the shiny, sexy and exciting new box ASAP

Yeah it would help but I still wouldn't be able to afford it at launch and would still wait until a price cut.

Launch titles are always the previous gen's forgotten shite with a tiny bit of polish.

Really? Hmmm:

Goldeneye 007 Reloaded
Halo HD
Metal Gear Solid HD
Resident Evil 4 HD
Some other classics recently launched in barely-passable HD that I can't be bothered to Google.

Halo may have been a launch title but the others certainly weren't.

HD remakes are a different thing.

The 360 launch titles are as follows

Amped 3 (2K Sports)
Call of Duty 2 (Activision)
Condemned: Criminal Origins (SEGA)
FIFA Soccer 06 Road to 2006 FIFA World Cup (Electronic Arts)
GUN (Activision)
Kameo: Elements of Power (Microsoft)
Madden NFL 06 (Electronic Arts)
NBA 2K6 (2K Sports)
NBA LIVE 06 (Electronic Arts)
Need for Speed Most Wanted (Electronic Arts)
NHL 2K6 (2K Sports)
Perfect Dark Zero (Microsoft)
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie (Ubisoft)
Project Gotham Racing 3 (Microsoft)
Quake 4 (id Software and Activision)
Ridge Racer 6 (Namco)
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06 (Electronic Arts)
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (Activision)

Not many gems there.. In fact apart from CoD which went on to spawn MW I don't think any of those franchises have been missed or in fact that any of those games would feature in anyones top ten 360 games.

Case closed.

Amped 3 was the dogs bollocks - leaderboards on it were immense
