Dark Souls

I'd never heard of Dark Souls, or Demon Souls, until a few months ago. I then spent a while amidst fans of the series saying it was tough but they were looking forward to it. Finally saw someone play it, or mostly heard them as they swore and threw things after dieing AGAIN... didn't sound like entertainment to me. I see there is a challenge that some would enjoy, but it sounded like that was at the expense of fun.

Usually I'd fuck a game of if it was that difficult I wasn't getting anywhere, but I find myself loving Dark Souls.
I think because it's been well documented that you're going to get fucking pwned! Repeatedly.

I think it's a crime that no one has said that the book and inlay smell absolutely fan-fucking-tastic.

I really want to like this game...its just difficult to like something that pisses you off so much. Even some of the minor enemies kick the shit out of you and you can't seem to do anything about it. The timing for parrying with the shield seems really difficult as well and if you don't get it right then is sometimes a one hit death.
I dunno, i might stick with it but with so much lovely, shiny stuff coming out all the time now, its days could be numbered and relegated to trade in fodder.

Yeah mate, I know what you mean, it just doesn't seem to hit the right spot between an enjoyable difficulty level, and sheer and utter frustration.

Despite being harder than Harry Mc Hard from Hardcastle, I'm really being drawn in to it. I've given Taurus a twating next I plan on mullering that big red dragon but only once its torched me to a cinder about 50 times.

I don't ever remember a game being this unforgiving but i've manned up and give it another shot tonight and i'm still getting my arse handed to me.
Oh well, maybe i'll get a good deal on Forza 4.

Yeah I think the person playing it wasn't that great tbh. They struggled to time there blocks right. Other videos I have seen there timing has been much better. They still died a lot, but it wasn't as frustrating to watch.

If its anything like Demon Souls combining attacks with ranged and melee weapons is always the best strategy.

What's the most amount of souls you have lost in one go? As in not made it back to pick them up before dying again?
