Anyway, is it called Xbox 360 magazine now? I'm confused.

Just to clarify, it's called 360 Magazine, just as it always has been informally. The word Xbox is on the masthead simply because it subtly suggests more formal branding. IE it says 'Xbox 360'. Believe it or not some people - parents buying for teens mostly - need the two words together to be sure they are buying the right thing.

PS: If the Gears review is a little short of my usual standard, that's because I wrote it at 4am having completed the entire campaign in one 13 hour sitting and with print deadline the next morning. That was a day that I'm unlikely to forget. We could have rolled the Gears Review over to the next issue, but what can I say? I'm a f***ing martyr. :P

Couldn't find the latest issue in WH Smith today... still had last issue. Hope they haven't dropped it altogether, though. There game section has been moved and seemed smaller.

Awesome issue! Even if I do take a ribbing for "Over simplifying resi's racism" ;)

Gears review seems bang on the money, got the rest to read later.

One hiccup, you mention that virtual on wasn't released outside japan but i'm almost certain I had it for either my sega saturn or dreamcast?

I think you'd be right. It was a Saturn release if my memory serves me correctly.

- The 360 versus the internet article, while clearly a pisstake, might have been better served with real quotes. Also, 360 verus the internet belies the amount of internet quotes (cough) that go in there every issue. Or are we the "good" internet?

- Liked the FIFA review - shame it's not improving the dismal Master League. Most might want it for online, but not me. There were a number of minor factual errors in the review that only a special kind of nerd would notice. So I didn't notice them. Cough.

- I enjoyed the Gears review despite not liking Gears in any way.

- Usual good quality writing and sense of humour while still getting across a love for the whole thing.

- I liked the Far Cry 3 preview too

- Isn't the ten questions feature supposed to be the same questions every month rather than a chance for Randy Pitchford to go on about how great his new game is? (How'd that last one work out, Randy?)
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

It is, but we love Randy so much we thought we'd give him an open platform. Yeah. We won't being doing that again!

Oh, and I like the new cover and its clear attempt to steal away the foolish mothers of teenage OXM readers.

If you added an "S" then people would think you worked on 360 magazines, the ladies would surely be impressed with your stamina.
