Because they are afraid whatever world they create next won't have the same positive impact (i.e. sales). Ezio and the Renaissance have proved quite popular.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

the Gaming industry is well known for not just milking the cow, but grinding up its hoofs to make glue!...

I wont be getting this game on release, I've had my fill of AC games for this year, I'll get it when its very cheap in the next quiet period.

I would like to say the same, being a cynical old fart, but I really enjoyed ACB

I really like ACB too, but by the end it was like, ok I'm not doing another one of these for awhile.

The thing that really attracted me to ACB was the multiplayer, but that was short lived, I just dont want to end up being sick of it, so i'm backing off.

I quite enjoyed AC:B but the relative lack of new scenery (it was still Italy) made it seem like the spin-off it was. I'm more excited for Revelations on account of it featuring a load of new and interesting places as well as an older Ezio. Constantinople looks fabulous.

This for me too. I think we should vote with our wallets.. If we keep buying it they'll keep milking it.

Also, Fix the fucking combat & Assassination kills!... I like the games dont get me wrong, but i still think there are fundamental things that need fixing in AC games.

Fix the movement. I don't want to keep running up the wall next to me and jumping off at a 180 degrees when I'm trying to run away from several angry guards.

The-Marb wrote:Said it before and ill say it again, the franchise would have still worked without the animus concept. At the moment its overly-contrived (I know some of you like it, its IMO). FFS, even the next assasin reading about the previous adventures of the last assasin (and being transported back in his head) would be better. The historical intrigue in the game is marred by sub-Matrix style sci-fi piffle. IMO.

Agree with you there Marb, 100%.

I hate all that Desmond shit & those other twat's, (Danny Wallace the most), but its a pointless shoe horned in twist that the long it goes on, more ridiculous its getting...

I'm totally lost on the whole AC story anyway, i mean what the fuck?.

Sigh. It's not that hard to understand. The Jesus man who came down with the aliens was a post-future demi-creature sent by the spacement Assassin "predestined" with the express purpose of explicating to Desmond the imperativity of his duel with the Templar (called Templar but really a pseudo religious cult formed from the ashes of the Ba'al worshiping sects of what is now Northern Tajikstan) so that twice daily impetus downloads could be received from the motherboard onto the brain of Desmond himself (!) which would make Desmond not only the actor in the script of his life, but also the writer (again - !), enabling him to forego such Nietschian qualities such as "life" and "metal" and subsume himself into the Altair / Ezio / Flangebanger (the third assassin, soon to be revealed, a binman from Dudley) "third world", by which method he can undermine the whole Templar ethos and reverse himself (i.e. the assassin) into the mind of the world and emerge finally, triumphant in a new form, as what people might call a "wanker".
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

OR...... is it because they had it all mapped out from the beginning?
