It's hard to say which one I'd rather get. Considering that I have loved the modern warfare series (I even got to level 70 10th prestige on MW2, WITHOUT HACKING), I'd probably get MW3. Yet, if I have enough money, I will probably get Battlefield 3 as well for the vehicles online

Thats fairly impressive given how MW2 takes a feckin age to rank up.

A year ago, EA released a modern shooter. It had DICE multiplayer - DICE are masters of multiplayer. It had a name, a name than ran through the earth of shooters like a seam of gold - Medal of Hono(u)r - that's where all this shit began, man. Medal of Honour. Storming the beaches of Normandy for the first time, being not Private Ryan but the dudes who saved his chops. Medal of Hono(u)r - where the fellahs from Infinity Ward started out before they got bored and split (something they've become adept at) to make a copycat called Call of Duty. The name has history.

And of course, it tanked. It stank and it tanked. Nobody talked about how it was a BlackOps beater, because it didn't even live in the same room. It was an angry, depressed looter on the outskirts of town while BlOps sniffed cocaine off the backsides of $1,000-an-hour hookers in its penthouse.

But now ... 12 months later, and "the internet" is ablaze with Battlefield versus MW3 talk. Who will win? Which do you prefer? YOUSOTARDISHMW3!!!11!

Do you know who the happiest man in the world right now is? It's the head of marketing at EA. He's in a conference room right now (on the 18th floor, called something like Liberty or Charleston or, more mudanely, 18-C) rubbing the cock out of himself. From nada to perceived competition in 12 months - that's some going.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Yeah i'm getting a bit bored of it all now. Both games have there own strengths and weakness. And SHOCK, HORROR, some people prefer one game and think the other is shit. The End. Now move along, nothing to see here.

BF3's campaign looks like all campaigns set in the same place (ala MoH reboot), a bit dull IMO. Im sure it will be realistic and well put together but i just cant get exited about it.

As for MP, im sure that BF3, will be technically superior and absolutely blinding.

But as with BF:BC2, i just couldnt get into the MP and found CoD to be much more fun to just pick up and play. Its the immediacy that makes it more succesful IMO.

Heres the thing, i dont think they are comparable as some people like to imagine. They both do different things, especially MP wise. One is engrossing and team based, one is a quick shooting fix.

So in conclusion, there is room for both, and both are fine games.

darn what could i possibly add to that? I agree with all of this and as such i dont think i'll bother with Battlefield - since Battlefield 2 Modern Combat in the really early days of the 360 - I think Battlefield has been playing second fiddle to COD ever since.

lol I'm not saying everyone is like that and am aware people like both games. It was a sweeping generalisation and should be taken with a pinch of salt. Add a sprinkle of pepper and a spoonful of garlic and VOILA! You have a COD & BF omelette.
