I watched some video reviews of Portal 2 and now I have to say that I kinda, sort of really want it right now.

Hollywooda, I'll have my words grilled and with a side salad, please

It really is one of those rare gaming experiences, that's just bloody clever & unique to itself.

The amazing thing is they have managed to take an already brilliant idea & expand on it in everyway conseivable.

Plus its balanced beauitifully. It never plays down to you, but at the same time no test is so frustrating that you won't get it eventually.
And when you do, most of the time, you cant help but giggle at how obvious & smart it is.

Ohh and I think Steven Merchants droid in this is as good as any pixar character you've ever seen, love it.

Just finished the SP... Loved it.

Started playing the MP with the wife on split-screen. The first time I've played anything split-screen for years. It was quite strange, it was almost like there was something wrong with my right eye (I was on the left). I thought it was just me until I mentioned it to the other half and she said she was having something similar but with her left eye.

Been looking forward to Portal 2 since I saw the first trailer on holiday last summer. Playing the SP at the mo, very cool.

Like ClT mentions, if Source was a car, it would be a rusty XR3i on bricks in a run down Essex front garden but as long as Valve raises the stakes for L4D3, the 'ain't broke' mentality is fine for Portal - its not like it has to cope with fast moving, intelligent AI.

As for the rest of the thread, did you like the first game? You'll love this one. Don't like Steven Marchant? Hit the mute button - its not like you're missing a Zimmeresque soundtrack. Haven't played the first one and like a game which makes you think and a witty script? Play them both. Not interested at all? There's 700+ other games for the 360!

This is the second title I've bought on release this year, should keep me happy until L.A. Noire.

Seems a bit short right?

Anyone whose not married to a co-op partner tried it?

We need to learn when to say "enough", rather than gluttonously devouring more and more of the same thing through sheer force of habit.

Have to agree there... I also thought that the puzzles could have done with being a bit tougher.

I think that's a fair comment?, L4D is a great little game, but valve really ripped gamers off putting those games out as full price
Releases, & then having the cheek to charge for dlc too, poor.

But our very own 360 Magazine says it is the greatest game of the year right there on their front cover (in April).
If in doubt, put the kettle on.
