Kinect: Whose in?

Postby Bob on Thu Oct 21, 2010 1:50 pm

So there seems to be quite a buzz about Kinect both pro's and con's and apparently it selling like vaguely warmed over cakes a bit like the cakes Sony where selling during the PS2 era..

But are you "Pro Kinect and I'm buying it!" or "I'm anti Kinect and would rather have an anal probe"

I'm not sure about the anal probe bit, but I won't be getting Kinect.

- There are no games that interest me that I can't already play on the Wii
- It's overpriced
- It's a glorified Eye Toy
- There are dozens of games either already out or coming out this year and next year - plus the 3DS is out next year - that I'd rather spend my money on
- By not opting for the physical controllers akin to Wii and PS3Move Microsoft have actually placed far more restrictions on both the player and the games that can be developed for Kinect,
- My living room isn't big enough unless I get rid of the sofa
- I can't afford to rent out a big, empty warehouse that's optimal to playing Kinect
- My fiancee has severe back problems that prevent her from playing pretty much every Kinect game

The reasons just go on and on. I'm out.

AS I said in another thread,if I had the spare cash I would get it for my kids. At the moment it doesn't appeal to me at all though.

I'm not against Kinect, but I am against the way M$ have handled it. I'm pretty sure they hired half the Nintendo staff to help them on what games to bring out.

I'll give them 20% of the RRP for 100% of the product, simply because paying £130 for an Eyetoy then £40 per game that'll get played by the kids for about 5 minutes til one crashes into my telly or snaps a limb trying to stroke an imaginary fucking tiger is INSANE.

Other than that, I'm out.

I like the way you've valued the investment. If you had either a. less hair or b. a lego helmet like Debra you could be Dragon.

I have virtually no hair right now, after drunken shenangans a few nights ago.

It would be cool to be a dragon though... "I'll give you £700 for your baby. Or my friend Peter Jones could come in on the deal and we'll each pony up half the money for an equal share in your baby".

Hahah. That's awesome!

I think the Dragons are right w*nkers.
"I'd like £50,000 for a 20% investment in my company."

"I'll give you £25,000 for 40% and my friend Duncan will also give you £25,000 for 40%."
Each end up getting double the investment for half the cash.

Lol. What it comes down to though is how they value their own company.

I want 100,000 for 10% of my company so I can make paper candles.

Ah so what you're saying is you'r company is worth 1,000,000?

Which of course it isn't.
