I've only seen the standard version yet but I'm going to go for the extended edition so I hope I'm right in recommending it to you Bob. Not sure what effect having not read the comic will have for you but most people that I know who saw the film having not read it seemed to understand it fine so you should grasp it easily enough.

Yeah, that was very annoying. I went yesterday to get myself a copy and there was no Director's Cut. I'm tempted to just buy it now, but the Blue-Ray edition doesn't seem worth the money. Almost £30 for a good film in high-def but with the same special features as the 2 disc DVD.
Which btw, could easily hold the film and all the special features on one disc.

Same goes for most other movies on DVD.

Well I'm glad you are too, otherwise I wouldn't have liked that joke very much.

Anyway, I didn't go on the link cos it just said Playusa.com so I assumed it was American. And I have a UK PS3, I don't think American Blue-Ray discs will work will it? Plus, they will charge for postage and packaging to the UK. So it's not £18. I've never heard of a free delivery abroad.

And HMV have it for £23 but it's not the Director's Cut, which I imagine will cost considerably more if it is ever released here.

right then

the 17.99 is included free delivery, all playusa stuff is free delivery.

the majority of Blu-Ray films are region free (including this one)

so for 17.99 you get the 3 hour directors cut in all its Blu-ness

Watched the standard version on BluRay last night, and absolutely loved it.

However, I have read the comic, so I think that helped a lot wih getting a feel for the film, and the characters.

I can also understand how some people who haven't read the comic could feel a little underwhelmed by the film as a whole. In parts, it doesn't flow very well, but knowing the story, I found it acceptable, other viewers may not have felt the same.
