Little help please :(

Postby gugly_duk on Sun Jun 14, 2009 8:31 pm

My oblivion has a little scratch on it, so my friend told me to install the game which will take away any side effects of the scratch.
But every time i try to install , whenever it gets to 12% it says the disk is unreadable! WTF?
Any way around this?

Gamestation will repair scratched disks for a few pounds. I think it's Gamestation but it may be Game.

I think both GAME and gamestation do it. GAME do it for £3, not sure about Gamestation. Looks like I'll be using it myself since the exact same thing has just happened to my L4D disc :x

What they said. If there's a scratch on the disc that's stopping it from playing it'll obviously stop it from loading to the HDD too.

If my local shops are anything to go by then go to Gamestation rather than Game 'cos my local Game charge for it but Gamestation will just do it for nowt. Might be different where you are though.

OR...

I had the same problem. Just borrow a copy (NOT scratched) and install from that disk. You should then be able to play from the HD with your slightly scratched disc.

Worked for me...

(...and my copy of Left4Dead is scratched and wont play on other Xbox's but will still play from HD on mine.)

Or, don't scratch the discs. Nothing gets on my nerves more than seeing a CD or DVD out of its box, just lying around.

My little brother is one for doing that, leaves his discs just slapped anywhere in his room.

It's either that or when you open up one of his game's cases theres a completley different game in the case.

Oh God, don't get me fucking started on that! I've borrowed games off people before, got home and found something different in there. I wanted to borrow Rainbow Six 3! If I wanted to borrow Barbie Feckin' Horse Adventure, I'D HAVE FECKIN' ASKED TO BORROW BARBIE FECKIN' HORSE ADVENTURE.

For example.

Seriously. If you take a game out of your console and put it in the right box, you won't get that knock on effect where EVERY box has the wrong game in it. Plus you avoid the potential embarrassment of trading something in, only for something completely different and point-at-you-and-laugh-because-you-bought-it to be in there instead.

Then when the next person goes to rent it, Blockbuster has your name, address and telephone number to contact you and ask why the game that worked perfectly before is suddenly scratched to fcuk. A plan so perfect, it's retarded.
