Except i'm pretty sure when you do plastering the person who's responsible signs a contract or some form of legal document for the work. Still, tax-free is the way to go man.

Depends if it's a big job or not - he Henri's doing month long jobs pocketing a grand a time without declaring his self-employedness it'd be fiddling. If it's just days here and there not really.crtainly if he's not claiming.

It is fiddling! Strictly speaking, you should declare it if someone gives you money for your birthday. Just like I didn't.

I believe there's a limit before you have to declare cash gifts.

Any kind of earning should be declared on a tax return.

Isn't there a minimum amount? Like a grand a year or something? OBviously someone in a fulltime job pulling pints getting his dosh cash in hand is fiddling - but someone helping their next door neighbour clear out the basement for a nice on the lash as pay - how does that work?

What if it's multiple payment forms.

Such as a £2k a year part time job, plus £1560 a year EMA?

I'm talking about gifts. You have to declare all earnings. The tax dudes will decide if you owe anything.

You've heard of tax, right? Do you expect roads to be maintained? Will you send your children to a state school? Will you use the NHS? etc etc etc. I'm not actually asking you these questions, don't bother answering them.

That's the price you pay for living in the west and not the middle of iraq.

Quit bitching and think yourself lucky you have the option of free medical care, a semi competent police force, your education paid for until you hit 18 etc etc etc.
