I'm not really a big PC gamer either but this website will tell you if you can run games.

System Requirements Lab is a good site, it depends on what games you're into.

Go to Start > Run > dxdiag and it tells you most of the need to know info about your laptop. CPU, RAM, Graphics Card etc.

I'm not a huge PC gamer but I do indulge when I can. It depends on what you want, if your looking for RTS then Company of Heroes or Dawn of War(both made by Relic) are superb choices and should run fine on your laptop, also the new Total War Empires might be up your street.
For shooters then Crysis if you can or my preferred choice, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, the original Shadow of Chernobyl or the prequel Clear Sky(Clear Sky is better but the hardest), which is a bit like Fallout 3 but harder, scarier and more like a survival horror albeit with better shooting mechanics than Fallout.
Obviously there are the classics like Deus Ex, Thief, System Shock, NeverWinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, Homeworld, etc. But you might have already played them depending on your history with pc games in the past.

And don't even ask me about MMO's, I refuse to let you play them as they are bad for your health.

So, surely you must know that a Solid State Hard Drive is better than a regular HD.... Or is it? *intense look*

I wouldn't use a solid state HDD... too expensive at the moment.

I'm using 2 SATA HDD's.

Nice find, cheers. I haven't got many PC games as my graphics card isn't really cut out for anything past about KOTOR standard (or at least that's the graphically best game I've got it to run reasonably) but I've been wanting some old strategy and more PC oriented titles. Problem is I get quite picky when it comes to stuff like that and either love it or hate it. That bundle should give me a good selection of stuff that'll work on my PC though and everything I've played by Sid Meier so far I've got well into.

*EDIT* Anyone know much about the X-Com titles on that list? I've heard of 'em but don't really know what they are or if they're any good.

What graphics card do you have if it can only just run KOTOR?
Run dxdiag and click the Display tab. Should say it there.
