Prolly a cheap pick up for me.

pale i would definetly pick up the first game mate to get into the back story, you'll be able to pick it up dirt cheap now and it's a brilliant FPS shooter. one of the best games i played when i first got an xbox and it's got some amazing moments in it

i will be playing the darkness 2 all weekend fo sho

wonder if mike paton is involved again? not read anything about him so suppose not :x

Got this on pre-order with Amular. I do wonder if it would be wise of me to play the original first though judging by the story comments.

I don't know if its necessary?, but considering its peanuts I'd do it.

Also who the hell is Amular??... Sounds like you've bought it off some Nordic God!?...or random He-Man extra?.

I was just wondering if playing the original first would add a little more perspective when going into the sequel. I have played some sequels without playing the original first and not fully appreciated them.

Amular = Kingdom of Amular...

That could be the case here, the first one does really set the story up, depends how bothered by that sort of thing you are.

But it is a great game, and nobody does NPC's like Starbreeze.

I don't think you'll have to have played the first one.. this sounds almost like a reboot. The tentical mechanic is completely different as well.

i'm sure they recap on how jack gets the darkness & what happened to his girlfriend but considering how cheap the Darkness is now & how good it is, its gotta worth a playthrough before hand?.

I play it not so long ago and other than some ropey controls, still holds up extremely well.

Yup I agree and in some places its less than £3. And Mike Patton was excellent as the voice of The Darkness. Hell I even watched To Kill a Mockingbird all the way through and that was great.
My conviction is born to damn the fuckers who doubted me. To rise to great heights even beyond my own legend as a Great Cocksmith, Master Pintsman, and stunningly handsome Prince of Light in these dark Dark Ages!

This is most defo not a reboot. Not even slightly. The graphics have changed stylistically but the story continues from the first game. I think from Eli's point of view, it would be a good idea to play the first one. And I wouldn't say the tentical mechanic is completely different, either.

Er, it isn't a complicated plot dudes. Mafia man kills people with devilish tentacles and guns. In first person.

Oh sorry, have I spoiled it?
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

By the looks of it I don't think some of the lines will ever get old.
