I said a few pages back that I hoped the game implied consequences on the player for exploration. Say you have 5 places to explore with a side quest for each. But with the reapers invading you can only do three and the two planets you chose not to visit get blasted to pieces. Apart from the impact of losing entire planets storywise those planets may have had valuable resources, tech or troops to help with the war effort. The player naturally forfeiting these by their own choice and not the developer dictating which planets are doomed and nowt the player can do about it.
Why wouldn't doing it that way make any sense?
Mass Effect was a balanced action/rpg. Where as now its an Action/rpg.
There is that consequence for your forces thing, but it's more through your choices in missions and side missions than exploration. For example, I made a pretty important choice about 15 hours ago, gameplay time, thought I'd done real good - just now it's come back with unforeseen consequences that bit me in the ass and left my jaw hanging in a "nooooooooooo" moment.
And they've threaded this one really well. Whether you performed, and how you completed loyalty missions in 2 has an effect here, sometimes to an extreme level, sometimes through conversations. I'm baffled how some of these missions will happen in my save where everyone except Jacob died.
