To be fair, Red Dead did get pretty dull pretty fast. It was great in a lot of ways; an amazing accomplishment, caught that 'Western' feel beautifully, great characters and an intriguing story etc etc...

It just bored me pretty damn fast plain and simple. Might play the rest of it to see what happens story wise at some point but how people managed it all in one go after release without getting incredibly bored is beyond me :?

Your point would have more validity if Red Dead wasn't a good game, which it clearly is and shouldn't come as a surprise that people rave about it. Whether you liked it or not is irrelevant.

You disapoint me VA, being a writer I thought you would be able to tell the difference between a shit game and game you don't like. Cos you are the forum expert on crap games.

I used to like the old Rayman games, is there a demo for this? Might give it a crack.

Rockstar doesn't make good open world games. They make aesthetically dated, needlessly padded-out tedium fests with wonky controls, all wrapped up in an over-reliance on controversy.

"IMHO"

And yeah there's a demo, 'woods.

Ouch!, don't hurt em hammer!.. ha, but sadly your right mate, Rockstar's games have been the emperor's new clothes for quite sometime now,
They haven't made a great game since Vice City in my opinion.

Anyways, sweet I'll give it a try, I think I need some colour in my life after another year of grey Brown fps's.

Sure does. And don't forget GTA IV either!

Glad you liked it, 'woods. I've seen this online for £25 already, which probably means that despite its awesomeness it's selling like shit-topped sundaes. Shame.

I wouldn't dream of buying a platformer for full price, 25 quid seems a more appropriate price. Maybe it'll sell more now.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Yer CT's right, as much as i think its a fantastic little game, it would of faired better as 20 quid on XBL On Demand or Arcade & its not worth full wack as a new release,
not up against games like BF3, MW3 or Skyrim.

But i will be getting this at some point, its incredibly well done, sh1ts all over any Mario 2D game I've played.

I can't see where you're both coming from in regards to why a platformer wouldn't be worth the RRP. I got a good solid 10 or 11 hours out of Rayman Origins. In fact the only reason I stopped playing was because I was sent two more games for review that needed my attention (plus Mario Kart 7 came out). There's probably somewhere in the region of 15-20 hours' worth of play in it which is a fuckload more than a lot of games can boast nowadays.

Tbf I wouldn't pay full price for most games.

Rayman is a truly beautiful game both to look at and play. It's a good change of pace from all the other games that are out at the moment, I just wish I was good at platformers.

This is pretty excellent. Although i still say not a full price game.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.
