What other faction quests you done?

Nothing really mate. I went to see the grey beards.. Completed a couple of misc quests I'd done a bit of on the way and then see off to the school of magic. Was quite pleased with myself because I didn't have enough magika to do the spell to impress the door girl.. but a quick draft of one of my potions and quite literally hey presto!

If you want a quick magicka boost visit either the Mage or Atronach stones. The 'Mage' stone gives you a small boost and quicker magicka regeneration with 'The Atronach' stone giving a big boost with no regeneration.

The Mage stone is located in top right corner of F7. Follow the river bank south east from Riverwood and you can't miss it. The warrior and thief stone are in the same place. The Atronach stone is located in the top middle part of J6. Look just to the right of the x shaped mark.

There's also a cheevo for finding all the stones.

I'll be coming back to Skyrim soon as I've still got quite a lot to finish off.

That brings back some memories. Golden Joystick.... anyone.

I always use magic focused characters with these types of games so I make a point of knowing where the magic stuff is.

The stones make for a far more flexible system when boosting specific skills than found in Oblivion or Fallout 3. In Oblivion you had to set your sign during the tutorial and were stuck with it for the rest of the game. Fallout 3 had the main skills book at the start with you only being able to boost these by finding bobble heads or sticking to the same perk.

Once you've found a stone you can just go there and activate it as and when you want to. Activating a stone cancels out any previous boosts so you don't have to level up the required skill, choose the same perk or be stuck with a boost permanently.

Patrick Moore came to my university and opened a new building up at the observatory.

One of the students asked him how to beat one of the bosses on Golden Axe. It didn't go down well.

buy a conjure sword or something and just hit something and spam it, if it hasn't been updated it goes up a level every two or three times and can get it to 100 in less than an hour. Jus' saying.

I have this.

I played it for a bit.

I discovered lots and lots of caves.

Seriously though I played this for 2-3 hours and just got a bit bored (hides from stones) anyone find the same or maybe I just need to put some more hours into it?

^^^

Most games of this ilk take 8 hours to take hold IMO. I thought Fallout 3 was terrible on my first go and ended up playing it for 90 hours.

Skyrim can be overwhelming for the first few hours and it takes time to get a handle on things. Fallout 3 set up a lot more of the story during its opening section. I liked Fallout 3 but found the in-game world so depressing that I couldn't play it for more than a few hours at a time. I know it was meant to be that way but I love to go on random explorations and its drab look just didn't inspire me to do that.

I need to give it another whirl then.

I did loads of wandering in FO3 and just went off to explore and would spend hours just wandering around, loved it in FO3, not so much in Skyrim :? I just cant wait for WorldWar 3

I'll be giving this a wee rest for a couple of days, I think I'm all Skyrim'd out after playing it just over 3 weeks non stop.

Yeah, I ended up with Skyrim overload. I haven't touched it for a couple of months so it'll be nice and fresh to go back to.
