It was the same for me - I've waited until the Easter weekend to get into it. Once I have made the time, I've found that it takes much less effort to get into than I'd expected. It's impressive that a game with so much depth is as accessible as it is.

Good luck. This games only real issue is how incredible daunting it is in scale. I did 60 hours and then quit to wait for DLC as i over gorged myself like a kid with Easter eggs. Ive probably only done 1/3 of the quests in this time. This is off-putting when first starting, but once you get going its superb. GOTY deffo.

I know what you mean about the time spent with it. I've got a few side quests left to mop up, but I'm so looking forward to the DLC and opening up some of the new areas.

Oblivion got me with this, the scale put me off because I looked at is as a time investment that was somewhat scary. But I'm gonna chill my boots with this one and take it at my own pace... maybe even finish it in a few years

Yer and I've fully decorated it now. Lydia moves in with you. Giggity.

Stumbled across my first real tricky bit last night, trying to take on about three witches and a Hargraven. The witches aren't too much of a problem but the Hargraven blows me away every time(giggity). All this just to fuckin heal an old tree. Might have to come back to this later.

Does Lydia bring her own scatter cushions?

You know, the only thing so far about this game that disappoints me is that with all those lovely cool streams around, there's no option to ask Lydia to go skinny-dipping. Ah well!

Anyway, first time I tried that first fight in the quest for Nettlebane, the first time I actually managed to dispatch the 3 witches, the Hargraven killed me in one shot. I'm not sure whether the witches had already taken some health out of me or not, whether I'd cast restoration, etc. but I do remember it being pretty sudden! But I've been back there since and finished it off (and the rest of the quest, too). Probably used a couple of potions in the process but a few clumps with the battleaxe did the trick.

Yeh, I was one hit killed there several times before coming back 30 levels later like an unstoppable juggernaut o death.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

My level 18 Khajit goes around punching everything to death. Trolls, witches, dragons. All succumb to the furry fists of fury.

Nice

Also, Havant, apparently there is a mod on PC that makes all the woman in Skyrim naked, not that I know much about that. It does remind me of the first time I saw pixellated boobs. Lara Croft, how I loved thee

LOL. That's probably a bit extreme, even by my standards!

Yer did that in about the second attempt last night. The first loading screen I had said about frost spells reduce the targets majika, so I did that and it worked. Then get in close and wack her with your weapon innit. You become a bit of a sitting duck when you cross the tree trunk bridge, but after you get past that it was pretty straight forward. My dragon breath of fire shout helped too.

Man, I'm already getting nostalgic about this game. Really in the mood to play it again, got so much unplayed stuff to get through though.

That happened to me when my PS3 went YLOD. With 150 hrs lost I was more gutted about the loss of Skyrim than the console. Sold the game when I didn't think I could face going at it again, but missed it as soon as the PS3 was replaced. Now I'm going through Skyrim and the Fallout 3 GotY.
