Dark Souls

The sequel to the ultimate hard game gets even harder...

Developer From Software has a vicious surprise in wait for anyone who manages to get hold of the game ahead of its published release date.

According to Japanese blog Esuteru, as deciphered by Edge, the studio is sending max-level Black Phantoms into the games of anyone who shouldn't be playing the game yet to deal out all manner of havoc.

The beasts' stats are set at a fearsome level 145, with 1900HP and all abilities at the maximum 99.

Best hold off booting up that promo copy until 7th October then.

I've just seen this on CVG and my interest has been piqued. Looks like this may be the one that GOW3 gets traded for.

I am quite interested in this, but jeez a part of me feels like this is going to be so frustrating to play.

This 'no pause' thing intrigued me.. most games freeze when you press the guide button on 360 and I've never known a PS3 game to keep running when you go to the XMB in game.

I don't think the undead in this game have manners dude. There more likely to chop you into pieces, eat your remains and then shit all over your bones.
