I think flappy paddles is probably as much as you could handle with a pad.. although I've not tried the clutch option.

I find the engine braking effect whilst changing down and braking for slower corners an absolute god send. I've not blown an engine for a while though although I've not gotten to the really close ratio boxes of the high performance stuff yet. I normally drop the first gear as I begin to brake and then the remaining ones at the apex so I'm in the right gear to drive out and then short shift as I come out of the curve.

PING!!!.. ha.

I'm surprised this hasn't brought Sciara out of the wood work, he's been e-mailing me about how its taken over his life,
and blowing his digital jizz all over it!... Ohh feel bit sick now.

It really is that good.

On the subject of TCS. It's not required by The Stig and it's not required by me.

A great nights racing with Mr Howdle and his friends.

The R3 stuff is a real revelation.. Didn't really like it in previous Forza games but with the new handling and improved sense of speed and the fact that it doesn't order the grid on PI any more gives you a real sense of racing..

A fight to the death with Rossi and two other F430s at Suzuka and I managed to pip him on the last chicaine.. Great stuff.

Had another twiddle with the RS200 this morning Dan. It's getting to within half a second of your F50 times. I had the brake balance working against the diff balance last night which I think was causing the problems. Now it corners in a more dependable manner.

How often do you guys play like that?

Another triple post! But this comparison from eurogamer between GT5 and Forza 4 was, I thought, worth a mention

Eurogamer wrote:The overall impression we get from playing both games back-to-back is that each has its own strengths: in terms of the handling and audio Turn 10 could well have moved ahead of its competition while Polyphony's minute attention to detail (to the point of implementing working headlights/dynamic shadows in the cockpit view) plus the sheer range of different driving scenarios remains second to none. Both titles excel in their own ways - especially in terms of visuals - and we have the feeling that motorsport fans probably own both consoles and are equally invested in both games.

All. The. Time. ;)

It's certainly part of why I'm a Forza head rather than a GT head. It's all about fooking about with cars, with friends. That's the whole game for me, and why I find GT5 about as useful as a robot lemon.

Ah well I certainly enjoyed it. It was a good combination between laughs and serious racing.

That R3 F50 is an absolute beast and just has so much grip.. Every time I thought you where going to catch me I just started getting on the power earlier and it really started revelling in it.. I've nearly got the 2,500,000 to buy my own.. then I'm going to paint it in 360 magazine colours! So you'll see plenty of it in front ;)

I'll no doubt be about with the RS200 at the ready. My hand was a like a bloody claw come the end of the night though..

Still, no one said winning was going to be easy ;)

I think we won about the same number of races overall. Especially when Zack got on, I kept getting barged off early. He thinks he's the best driver in the world, but since he's never learned to back off the line – ever – that's never going to be the case ;) It's pretty funny, though, in a loveable kind of way.

I got very lucky with a string of pole position and front row starts and thus didn't have to battle through the pack too much. I couldn't tell which one was zack and didn't like to take the piss to much by shouting "whose the one who thinks he owns the line!" every five minutes..

You where lucky to get me on a sober night ;)

Sounds like you've had a good laugh, will join you once I've got my noggin around the manual gears; been a bit lazy so far with that. Had a crack of the decals still a bit fiddly at first but still did a fairly bog standard Pacman image for my Seat Ibiza. Hope to be on Wednesday or Thursday night, will let you know if my driving is up to standard by then.

The servers appear to be down at the moment.

But when their back up I'll post a tuning setup for the R3 Ferrari F430 which is awesome. Monstered the AI. Forced Rossi into a massive accident the pressure on him was so intense.

Then I messed with the gears and ruined the delicate balance. I'm a clot and I ruined my car.

Just souped up my Escort cozzie, goes like a rocket now but is waaay too tail happy. Will certainly have to tame the monster with a bit of fine tuning now.
