It feels much more like how you'd actually drive a car. You don't drive down a road tackling one corner at a time. It's how the car flows from the last bend to the next and onwards.. and it actually feels very good at that.

Of course the person who greenlit the lack of a 'no music' option needs shooting as does the person who decided a bunch of slow cars getting in my way would improve the time trial rivals option. *******.

Other than that I'm probably back in. It feels right

Apparently no Porsche license either (i read that somewhere) :)
Damn shame.
Rage out Friday and then this next Friday...looks like i'm smuggling one (or both) of these in under the wife's radar.
Its tricky though. She's like Sherlock fecking Holmes on game release days.

Gamesradar review (someone at Edge's side job when they don't want to compare the game to the journey by the protaganist in an obscure Norwegian novel). Suspicious of a review before the game is out commenting on the quality of the user-generated content. Slightly more suspicious of the backgorund graphic on the site.

And Eurogamer review:

If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Having played the demo, I can't see myself getting this at launch. It's not enough better than FM3 to justify any more than about £25 IMO.

And I can't understand the fucked contrast either. I'm glad it's not just me who's noticed, I thought it was just me being a noob at setting my TV's picture settings.

IGN Review - 9.5

Gamespot Review - 8.5

No mention of contrast/colour issues. Must of of been something they have sorted since the demo build of the game.

@ Bob - You know if you play music from you 360 HDD, it mutes the game music while you can still hear the sound effects? Dunno if that sorts your problem out?

Someone did suggest that but I don't know how to do it.. I did have a look.

I'm undecided about day-one-ness for this for the first time ever.

For me, as a proper sequel, it should have more new tracks. Can't be doing with grinding away through the old ones again.

How to listen to music on your console

Should be easy enough even for an old man like you to follow, Boo-Boo.

I do this all the time when games have licensed tracks and you are spending a lot of time in the menus.

Dan has reviewed it on the main site too. He seems mightily impressed. It's in my amazon basket with Dark Souls and Batman in any case.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

If 'Desperate' Dan Howdle is watching.. I have two things to say.

That's a very creative line into the first corner at the Top Gear track.

Consider your F Class time well and truly smashed.. thanks for the 'cheevo.

That is all ;)

Just me again then?

The handling is sublime. Even gives the old tracks a new lease of life.

The Cossie Sierra on Maple Valley is a beautiful thing. You can really feather the throttle around the first corner in third to keep it right on the limit. Then I swept through the left hander. Lost the back end and, having crashed a few cars in my time, it really does nail the feeling of getting a tank slapper on when it swings back again.

There's already been some nice touches in teh career. Taking on a rival over the Jap mountain course in amongst slower cars recreated that Friday Night feeling of beating all the EDGE lot.

Also you can't take the first corner at Sunset Valley flat out anymore.

Overall.. it does feel a bit Forza 3.5 but, so far at least, is doing enough to re-ignite my passion for all things Forza.

Nah Bob I'm sure there'll be a few more forumites getting hold of this in the coming weeks. I'm still getting back into it through career mode. Buff Angel suggested a forum car club, sounds a decent idea to me...

Got this yesterday and i'm impressed. The AI cars seem to have got a bit wiser and i'm liking the additional features added from Forza 3 but it does seem more like a Forza 3.5 than a whole new game to me. There's so much here that was already in F3 that it seems more like an update than a whole new game.
But ,as they say, if it aint broke...don't fix it.

Got this today, will try it tomorrow. Also got the silly disembodied floating steering wheel. Will try that too.

The game's great, the wheel's great, and it's simple to turn off the in-game music via the menus.
