Not entirely.

There's more great bits than annoying bits.. it's just that the annoying bits are even more annoying because the game could've been fantastic with a bit more time/play testing?

I've had a lot of fun playing 90% of it.

Gotten to the top of the Castle from Hassle.

I really liked the Moor Pu Dekcuf or whatever it was called. The switches, controls and camera where really good.. bit of a puzzle challenge broke up the action.

Second play through started. Already gotten a couple more achievements I missed first time through.

Perhaps we should continue the conversation about the genius that is Shadows of the Damned here?

Picked this up on your say so Bob.

I'll be giving it a blast after the tea-time rush.

Got up to act 3-4 and apart from a few silly design choices letting the game down its been pretty good fun overall.

Love the homage to Ghosts and Goblins.

It's not going to win any awards but it's solid action. It gets more fun as it goes along. The characters really grew on me.

Well, this game is a bit of a giggle, innit? Good so far.

It is indeed. But the fun isn't at the expense of solid gameplay.

I've just got to that part and I agree. It has a definite Labyrinth vibe going on and I loved the Ghostbusters library scene parody a few stages before.

Shadows uses some of its ideas one too many times; chase sequence being the prime example. I would say thats down to uneven pacing more than anything though. The first half is mainly all action with its best ideas being crammed into the latter parts. Had its ideas been more evenly spread out it probably wouldn't have been so noticeable. The camera could've done with being pulled back a bit more when the enemies get too close especially when low on health. There are one too many boss fights for my liking but I guess that was to be expected.

Despite a few misdemeanors its highly playable and lots of fun, and thats what counts. I would've liked to have seen a bit more on the replayability front though.

The demon disclaimers and Johnsons post credits rap had me in hysterics.
