You, me, hyper combos, 18th February.

I won't take "no" for an answer. 8)

How much did the fight stick set you back?

It was about £40. It's bigger than I'd thought it be (which is not a bad thing). You got any other fighting games?

That's not bad actually. I've seen some sticks that were £100+. Where'd you get it from?

I don't have any other fighting games, as - believe it or not - I'm not actually into fighting games at all. But MvC2 had a much simpler button/attack set-up and I found the combos and special moves much easier to pull off than in something like Street Fighter IV, which I did get when it came out and just couldn't get on with. MvC3 streamlines MvC2's controls a bit more in the "normal" setup, but there's also the "simple" setup, which limits the amount of attacks and special moves available to you but makes the ones you do have much, much simpler to pull off; handy for easing people into the game.

The simpler setup is the main reason why I'm anticipating MvC3 so much, but there's also my love of Marvel. Although I have to see I am a little bit disappointed at the Marvel side of the roster. Personally, I would have replaced She-Hulk with Ms Marvel as it would make the roster at least a little more diverse visually, and I think X-23 could have been replaced with someone who won't basically turn out to be a Wolverine clone. Someone like Sandman would have been good; potential for a wide variety of attacks as opposed to more slashing and clawing at their opponent. Allegedly there are only two more characters left for Capcom to announce; one for each side. The rumours regarding the final roster resulting from a leak on Twitter have so far proved to be true, so if that is the case the final two characters to be announced will be Hsien-Ko (Capcom; from the Darkstalkers series) and Sentinel (Marvel; from X-Men, obviously).

Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath should really have just been included straight away too as opposed to being day one DLC. They'll already be on the disc anyway; unlocked with a 1KB download more than likely.

If I was any good at this game I would be so hyped for it, I love MvC2 on arcade but I stink at it, So to pay full whack for MvC3 on or near release date is a no-no for me, I'll pick it up when it goes down in price.

I've not exactly got super dexterity either.

Get it. You know you want to. We can have some good evenly-matched fights, seeing as we're both so ham-fisted. :)

I got me fighting stick from Amazon. If you want more info, give us a shout and I'll post a link. I think it has gone up in price tho as I bought it before the vat rise.

See with with the simple system, its taking some of the fun away for me. I like trying to do all the moves and combos. I'm just not very good at it. I found Street Fighter IV a wee bit difficult, but I put that down to the 360 controller not at all suited to these type of games.

I've heard X-23 plays quite differently to what people expect and is not just a Wolverine clone. Check out the video preview on IGN to see what I mean. One of the points they make is the the roster plays very varied.

Cool, yeah send me the link. Is it a good stick?

Regardless of how differently X-23 plays to Wolverine, she symolises one of the things wrong with comics - namely, if you can't think of a story, say that A CLONE APPEARS - so she can shove it lol.

I was tempted to completely ignore you just to see what you would do...

Yeah its much better than the standard 360 controller. It feels solid enough, the only bad thing I've noticed so far it the stick makes a clicking sound. That can get quite annoying at first but I hardly notice it now.
