Apparently all I have to do is wait 48 hours ;)

It's £40 in Sainsbury's anyway; you wouldn't be saving much* by going there anyway.

I guessed as much what with it being a platform exclusive.. I just didn't want to burst HW's bubble.

When you've waited 4 years to play a game its hard to not have expectation. Its hard to not look at every aspect of the game & wonder where all that time went. I first got aware of Alan Wake was when I noticed a small screen shot on the back of the 360 box..on the day it was launched!. Since then intrigue & interest have grown, from finding out it was going to be developed by heavy weight developer Remedy,to wondering if Alan Wake would ever see the light of day! (pardon the pun). Now finally, it was in my hands & the darkness awaited......

If your trading in games against a new one thats the same price everywhere try HMV, they gave me the best trade in prices yesterday. I got £7 each for Street Fighter 4 and Bioshock where Game only offered £3!

The 3/5 of those I've played, I wouldn't say they were Top 5 of 2010.

Stephen King rang.. he wants his plot back.

I'm not entirely convinced by the animation.

Also why is Alan wearing about five coats?

It get's a lot better as it goes along, atmosphere wise.. The gameplay is rock solid but there's no real development or anything new to see (as far up to chapter 4 goes anyway) and whilst I am really enjoying the game and the world I'm getting very annoyed at continually having my equipment stripped from me..

Wake should play cricket for Australia the amount of times he drops his fecking torch.

I don't mind the equipment loss too much, at least it means I don't have to worry about spamming all my flashbangs too early.

I love losing all my stuff - cause it makes me work harder to load up and unlease it all at once instead of trying to save it all for a really strong end boss...

Yes and no.

A good survival horror should have an element of inventory management in my IMO.. it makes it tenser during the battles when you're desperate to use something tasty but are fearful of later running into some mean SOB you then are going to struggle with.

Like you say in this I've learnt to just smoke 'em if you've got 'em..
