Thing is Bob, if anything its upped in quality IMO. Its fucking dripping with quality for tone and script if you ask me.

Its the game Kane and Lynch 2 wanted to be but fell well short of by virtue of being overly nasty and badly written.

That said i could well be wrong and Mr Trousers review is still good.

NEED FOR SPEED: THE RUN

An abysmal game. Made all the more fruitless by a final level that is in reality about 11 seconds long !!!!

As you battle through a nicely rendered New York City in the final level, cut scenes interrupt the play and force you down a specific path. So even if you were 15 seconds ahead of the rival, or 4 minutes behind, the game cuts to a ridiculous short cut, and you're placed back just behind the rival. In reality you could slow crawl through the entire level till the last 11 second straight... Pointless.

2 out of ten...

2 points only for the frostbite2 engine...

But for the fact that the entire game enforces ridiculously tight check points on you all the way through.

I finally completed something!

First play through of Lollipop Chainsaw - ** and a half.

It really is average. I really need Apollo to explain to me the combos I should've unlocked or else it's just not that good. Which is a shame. It's certainly fun.. I couldn't tell whether my copy was bugged but Nick got stuck in conversation loops which he started repeating over and over which was annoying. Couldn't work out how to answer my phone when the icon came up either.. other than that.. not sure.

Lego Batman 2: DC Superheros on Vita - *** and a half.

Way more enjoyable than Lego Pirates (which I felt lack a lot of logic in some of the puzzles) and amusing cut scenes (Robins love of Superman and Batman vs. Lex Luthor) helped this one along. I liked most of the puzzles I liked the use of the different DC super heros.

In fact this is the first Lego game I tempted to hold onto and freeplay to try and unlock everything.

I'm also probably going to buy the PS3 version.

It is. It truly is. Even on PC it's no better...

I was very annoyed with the last level.

The shooting is good.. but there's just too many cut scenes .. you can reguarly skip upto 5 in a row.. which, for an action game, gets the pacing all wrong.

The AI Trust system is ok. Apart from the fact that they often stand in your way when your trying to shoot which doesn't help with the trust. When your downed you get a brief period where you can be healed.. if you haven't got a health pack and AI member will ask if you want assistance before wandering off to do something else.. other team mates may be nearer but wont do anything if they aren't the one with a health pack.. it's very annoying.

Mostly though the game insists on stopping the action every few minutes while the characters chat, or for a cut scene or for a section where your forced to walk along slowly.

Sounds to me like someone was getting frustrated because they just wanted to get through a game rather than
Enjoying it to the end, yes?.

No. Someone was frustrated because they wanted to shot some robots and kept having to watch pretty pictures.. Ideal for Pretty Boys.. less so for the rest of us.

You can't blame the game for having a story! Ha, some of us enjoy cutscene and having a strong narrative.
Anyway I'm wasting my breath here, you turn the fucking music off in games!.... :D

You should really read the entire post before jumping in dude.

It's the combination of cut scenes, in game chats and bits where you can't do anything game wise apart from walk slowly that really spoilt it for me. It does the same thing that Uncharted gets guilty of where you can't just get on with shooting stuff for it stopping to show you something..it breaks the pacing up to much.

Besides how important is a story in a shooter? I can watch a movie or read a book. It literally goes from loading screen to cut scene, to cut scene, to cut scene and then back to loading screen and your thinking .. I haven't even played anything.

But your playing a game with a strong emphasis on story? There's going to be cutscenes and chatty bits its a very character driven game, if you don't like that you shouldn't of bought it.

Bit like buying gran truismo and moaning all u do is drive cars about.
