Everytime you complete a game, post what you thought of it. Let people know what you think of it and maybe even let people know if it's worth getting.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

The Metal Gear series is the greatest gaming series ever made imo. It has the best story in a game ever with some incredible gaming. The conclusion to the series is no different. I don't want to give away too much for those who have not played this so I won't mention the plot except for it is a tremendous conclusion to the series.

The new abilities and technology Snake has now also aids in making the experience you will never forget. Whether it be the OctoCamo or the drum can, each item can help you or some cases provide you with humorous results. MGS4, like the previous games, quite humourous. Johnny returns and has a few accidents and for fans of the series the references to other games can be quite funny. Some of Otacons and Snakes conversations can be hillarious.

Before I played the game I heard critisism of the legnthy cutscenes. Yes the cutscenes are long but also very entertaining. If you're a fan of Metal Gear the cutscenes shouldn't bother you anyway. The bosses in the game are really good aswell. I don't want to say too much but some of the bosses are superb and really well thought out. This is an amazing game and arguably the best in the Metal Gear series. A must play.

10/10

Your turn now.  :D

Mirrors Edge

Brutal at times and very old school in the trial and error nature of some of the game play... But it looks stunning and plays well when it's going well..

Overall I give it 7.

Scrabble

Good if you have a couple of friends who also like word games, but the little square tiles are a bit fiddly.

Changed the title to Last game you completed to prevent confusion.

Mirror's Edge

I was really looking forward to this before it came out and I heard mixed things about it. I love it though. I love the style and swiftness of the gameplay (though the indoor bits can be frustrating). The free running works great in first person but in the indoor bits it can be slightly confusing. The running outside on top of the buildings is the highlight of the game. You need to get from one end to the other quickly taking whatever route you wish. The indoor bits are not bad but don't match the high speed of the outdoor parts and can often be frustrating. Some of the indoor bits are excellent though. Combat is intresting in this. It isn't the best combat ever but the beauty is trying to avoid it and get around enemies though sometimes it is not possible.

The game also suffers from being short but I happily replayed it through again and I can see myslef doing so again. Aswell as the main game there are time trials and speedruns which add to the legnth and often prove to be quite fun. Multiplayer is virtually non existent as the only online options they have is leaderboards and ghost racing. Racing your friends ghosts is quite fun though.

Mirror's Edge is an orignal game which tries to be different from all the other FPS games out there. It suceeds in doing so and is only let down down by some slight frustration in the indoor part of the single player and the legnth of the single player.

Fable 2

Played through most of this because it was there rather than because I really really wanted to. Albion was a nice place to be, full of sort of interesting folks, but the game was never compelling for me.

Lots of what the hell am I supposed to be doing moments as well, not because the tasks weren't clear, but because I'm supposed to just know what a hero of skill is, and why I need his help?

Buying all of the properties and business' seemed fairly pointless as well as there wasn't really eany benefit to it, bar unlocking achievements. You didn't really need money because properties/business' aside, the other stuff you could buy was boring.

The ending was a bit of a strange one as well, though it felt as if it was trying to be different for different's sake.

Anyway, an enjoyable, but not compelling

In 360 Mag style,

Mirror's Edge

Just finished right now, so I'll write more when I've woken up a bit.

Suffice to say, I thought this was great. A refreshing change from the typical floaty, strafy shoot everything that moves FPS. There was actually a level of tension in this game, which I don't think you normally get when you're a hulking great space marine/soldier/hero type

I think everyone must of picked up a cheap copy at the same time!?!...
I Finished Mirrors Edge over the wkend. I've been watching Mirrors Edge
since the preview in Edge mag about 3 years ago!?, i was put off by reviews but loved the demo. The full game has some really great points, mostly the feeling of actually being part of the person on screen!. Most FPS u just feel like a camera with a gun stuck on the front traveling on rails about 5 foot off the ground. Plus it looks incredible the lighting & shading is like nothing else it feels like a high tech demo for Vray or something, stunning. When the game play works it delivers a real heart pounding sense of urgency! jumping from roof tops & sliding under obstacles to avoid gun fire feel's amazing. But when it doesn't work you will find yourself biting the controller & screaming at the telly...(well i did). Overall Mirrors edge is a good game not perfect but what is these days, I think someone could take the engine & do something very special with it or Maybe mirrors edge 2 could iron out the niggles & then DICE would have an incredible game on their hands.

Bingo! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. I hate FPS games for this exact reason. I've avoided things like Bioshock and COD because of the horrible floaty feeling your character always has.

I've never really felt 'in the game' in the way that FPS is supposed to until Mirror's Edge. That feeling and the discernible tension of running from enemies and not shooting back elevated this above the majority of FPS' that I've ever played. The only one that comes close in feel is R6Vegas.

When that came out at the start of the 360's life I thought FPS games had turned a corner with regard to the feeling of being 'in the game', but then we were back to floatiness in Halo 3 and I was back to disliking FPS' again.

yer its crazy that they don't spent more time immersing you in the game? they spend f**king months/years! creating an engine which can make wood splinter realistically then just plonk the gamer on the FPS wheelchair & push you off!!??..
Just a little screen wobble when you character walks makes such a difference!. I remember playing Butcher Bay & looking down & seeing my characters legs crouching.... I thought f**K!!... i pressed crouch & i'm crouching! im in the game!... why don't more developers spend more time on things like this? if they have half a brain & have play Mirrors edge they'll take note & this will now be a staple in future FPS's's's's...s...

It is funny when you look down and see no legs or anything..

Having said that I hope we dont have a glut of movment based running and jumping First Person games.. What DICE have done works but I wouldn't like to see everyone trying it.. It's a very tight balance.

Me neither i just think ANY & every FPS should have the feel of Mirrors Edge, not in the game play, but the way that your in the body/head of that person on screen. COD would look/feel much better if when you ran/walked you felt the weight & momentum of the character.

I agree. FP games should ensure that your character is able to at least perform any action that a normal human can. For example: Climb up onto a wall; mount a kerb; get up onto a four foot high object; run and jump realisticly and so on. It would just make the immersion and the illusion that you are that person that much more realistic.
