this is a fantastic game and so glad i did the first one first, adds so much to the plot and your sense of involvement.

was a bit disappointed at first that the inventory wasn't as much fun to tinker with but have got used to it now.

I'm 20 hours in and barely feel like i've scratched the surface yet.

just completed.

Question - is any of the DLC worth the price? Most of it costs more than the main game cost me...

They are a bit of a mixed bag imo, jd. Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord and the Firewalker dlc are probs worth a punt. Arrival & Normandy Crash site are pretty awful tho. The other loyalty characters are pretty average. Did you buy it new or second hand, as some of the dlc is free when the game is bought new.

^^^about right. Wasnt fan of firewalker as i hate the tank bits, but i enjoyed Zaaed and Katsumi, etc.

Just started a playthrough of 1-3 as a new incredibly rude female character. I have to say, am enjoying 1 more than first time, but its by turns very frustrating and excellent. Its flops from the sublime to the ridonculous all the time.

Good - The size of the world, Bad - How sterile and empty the world looks and feels at times.

Good - The brilliant conversation wheels, Bad - the clunky as hell combat

Good - the story, Bad - the difficulty spikes

Add to the fact ME3 felt over simplied in terms of scope (despite many excellent elements) and i think 2 really is the best. It just about gets the best balance between 1 and 3.

I loved zooming around in the Hammerhead.

Like I said thought the extra characters were average, Katsumi was probs the best out of em.

@ JD - I bought the dlc when they were reduced, even when I didn't have the game.

Didnt end up using the extra characters much myself, prefered to stick to my Mordin and Jack/Miranda crew. That said they were faintly memorable.

Lair of he Shadow Broker is a must, probably the best piece of DLC I've ever played. I'd recommend getting both the characters as well. The other packs are good but nothing that's gonna blow your mind. Arrival is good for filling the gap between ME2 and ME3 as well but it's pretty much just shootout after shootout.

Ah, you will probs need to purchase cerberus network(online pass basically) to be able to download dlc, if it is second hand.

To be accurate, the best DLC ever is Broken Steel for Fallout 3 ;)
...but Kastumis stotlen memory is good (if a little short)

But Marb...I'm not even sure Broken Steel was the best DLC for Fallout 3. :P

Also, I do think Lair of the Shadow Broker is one of the best bits of dlc ever done. It's up there with Undead Nightmare at least.

Ahhh Conq, well Point Lookout was good (ill admit) but Mothership Zeta was apparently shit and Anchorarge was dull.

Undead Nightmare rocks, but its just not quote as good as the main game as the combat mechanics arnt strong enough to support a combat heavy game. Broken Steel has a story equally as good if not better to the mian FO3 game IMO.

That wouldn't be hard, the main story in Fallout 3 was utter pants. As for the best dlc...I think The Pitt was the best, short but very cool and atmospheric.

I agree with Conk on both counts.
