Anyone getting this?

What little I've seen of it looks pretty good but from reading some reviews it sounds a bit average. :?

Average is hardly the word, perhaps overly ambitious. Most of the reviews have made me more interested, so I'm definitely getting it.

There are a lot of games competing for my £'s over the next few months so the average (or overly ambitious) games might not get a look in! :)

I'm definitely getting this. The reviews may sound pretty negative but I haven't seen any below 8/10 yet. Plus the reviews are ALL about single player, as per usual. I'm more excited about multiplayer and the map editor.

What reviews have you been reading? I've read EDGE, Eurogamer and Gamespot and they all sound good (although they do mention the downsides as any good review should)

Much like our beloved 360 they're probably waiting for it to go 'live' as it where before giving a verdict on the MP..

Most of the reviews I've read seem to have more focus on the downsides than you would expect considering the ratings they give at the end of it.

I like the way magazines review the online portion of the game after release, but I very rarely see websites like IGN do it. They definitely should though.

IGN are not that good for reviews i mean they gave GTA 4 10 out of 10 and itd been 10 years since the last game that got the score so they were obviously scared after what happened with gamespot and kane and lynch

Have put my first couple of hours in with this and my first thoughts:

Vast (quite dauntingly so at first). Gun play, gun sounds, shooting mechanics, all top drawer. Looks gorgeous. Loads of different ways to approach every situation. Fire effects are immense. Lastly, vast again because it's just so bl00dy huge.

Basically, so far it's everything they said it would be. I'm a happy chap. :D
