You're well weird about your checkpoints.

When you get older Gug you'll realise how valuable time is.

It's basically that I don't have a lot of patience and I don't like to have to replay whole chunks to get back to the bit I'm stuck on.

So I don't mind a game having the odd frustrating section, as long as I can get right back to the point I'm at with no hassle.

We need to learn when to say "enough", rather than gluttonously devouring more and more of the same thing through sheer force of habit.

Yes, the checkpointing was 99% successful. So sucessful that the very rare 1% (possibly, oh, 1% of the time) where it seemed odd was very annoying.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Maybe if you were better at games, you wouldn't have to do the same bit over and over again.

Agree that the check pointing is generally excellent.

Enjoyed this game a lot actually. A visual style that recalls a never filmed version of Guillermo Del Toro's Alice in Wonderland, (i.e not wholly original but interesting all the same), poor occasional collision detection aside it has good solid platforming and basic problem solving, basic but meaty combat, good running time.

A solid 7/10 for me.

I think my problem with this game was that i built myself up for it way too much thinking it would be something totally new. As marb said the graphical style was excellent but it just didn't wow me as much as i'd hoped.

Yeah 7/10 sounds about right
