In many ways Oblivion is better, particularly the quality of missions.

In many other ways, it's not, particularly that it looks like dog vomit.
If in doubt, put the kettle on.

Some missions are better, some aren't for me. The main thing that makes Skyrim better is both the quality of the world and the absence of the retarded enemy scaling system that was present in Oblivion. Obviously there are a myriad of game play improvements (and I prefer the range of foes in Skyrim) but I think it'd be a bit unfair to hold that against Oblivion given the time difference.

Personally, I like it for the same reasons I like fallout3 more than New Vegas.

Oblivion was such a big leap from Morrowind, it felt like it was completely fresh and exciting. Then as soon as I put in skyrim, sure it was fun, enjoyable and whatnot but it felt like it was trying so hard to better Oblivion, but to me was just the same game.

The same way that Fallout 3 was so different to fallout 2, New Vegas was so similar to Fallout 3 etc.

I dunno, maybe it's just rose tinted glasses, but even if so then that's still a reason I prefer it.

Also, you could make your own spells.

I wanna finish this game might get the game of the year edition, after seeing so much bile this year makes you realise what a master piece this is.

Undead Nightmare is a fantastic bit of DLC, even if it does get a little repetitive.

If there isn't much price difference I'd strongly recommend getting the GOTY edit.

My neighbour had a copy of this kicking about so I borrowed it, its easy to forget what an incredible piece of work this is, just moseying along on your horse at dusk while a soft jazz trumpet plays a lofty tune in the breeze is a gaming experience unlike any other, stunning.

Yer it's so easy to get distracted from the main game, and like you said H even just moseying around on your horse is great fun.

This game really was a case of the emporers new clothes.

We need to learn when to say "enough", rather than gluttonously devouring more and more of the same thing through sheer force of habit.
