I'm not adversed to playing COD online; in fact, I quite enjoy my regular Blops sessions with Marb and I'll pick up MW3 around six months after release, just like I did with Blops. But anyone who claims that it's better online than BF online is so undeniably, absolutely wrong it's not even funny.
I love the incentives for extended play in COD, such as perks and unlockable weapons, but don't miss the former in BF, while it has the latter in spades... along with vehicles, destructable scenery, class-specific abilities, a higher player count and the four-man squad mechanic. Plus it's a more tactical and team-focussed game than COD, where each match is basically 16 players running around doing their own thing as opposed to working as a team.
In BF if you don't work together, you lose; simple as that. And it makes for a more dynamic and exciting game. I remember playing BF where we were outnumbered while defending an objective and we won because we were all fulfilling certain roles. We had a medic keeping his head down and healing the other players alive by handing out medkits and reviving fallen team-mates. We had assault guys keeping everyone stocked up with ammo and seeing to opponents on foot. We had snipers helping out the assaults and chucking motion sensors. We had engineers with RPG's sorting out vehicles. We were untouchable because the other team just spammed assaults and jumped in vehicles and didn't play tactically. How anyone can think that just picking a gun and running around aimlessly in COD - while certainly fun in its own way - is better than that is beyond me.
