I'm not adversed to playing COD online; in fact, I quite enjoy my regular Blops sessions with Marb and I'll pick up MW3 around six months after release, just like I did with Blops. But anyone who claims that it's better online than BF online is so undeniably, absolutely wrong it's not even funny.

I love the incentives for extended play in COD, such as perks and unlockable weapons, but don't miss the former in BF, while it has the latter in spades... along with vehicles, destructable scenery, class-specific abilities, a higher player count and the four-man squad mechanic. Plus it's a more tactical and team-focussed game than COD, where each match is basically 16 players running around doing their own thing as opposed to working as a team.

In BF if you don't work together, you lose; simple as that. And it makes for a more dynamic and exciting game. I remember playing BF where we were outnumbered while defending an objective and we won because we were all fulfilling certain roles. We had a medic keeping his head down and healing the other players alive by handing out medkits and reviving fallen team-mates. We had assault guys keeping everyone stocked up with ammo and seeing to opponents on foot. We had snipers helping out the assaults and chucking motion sensors. We had engineers with RPG's sorting out vehicles. We were untouchable because the other team just spammed assaults and jumped in vehicles and didn't play tactically. How anyone can think that just picking a gun and running around aimlessly in COD - while certainly fun in its own way - is better than that is beyond me.

BF3 all the way. Just simply because DICE make the best MP out there. I've played MW2 online and just wasn't impressed by it. When I compare it to Battlefield 1943, which is, graphically, far more primitive, is so much more fun. So BF3 will run rings around MW3. Well, at least in my mind anyway!

There seems to be different kind of attitude on BF compared to CoD. I can't remember the last time some teenage yank kid swore at me for killing them on BF. Happened on a daily basis when I've played CoD.

What VA said has nailed it on the head why I enjoy it so much. It is about the only game I've played where even if you don't win, it is still fun. I don't care if the graphics aren't as good as MW3 or the pc versions, cos gameplay always comes out on top. As long as the core Battlefield experience is there (and I'm positive it will be), I will be happy.

Same as a lot of people here i think, MW3 for single player and BF3 for multiplayer. I'm too old for all that twitchy, fast paced, COD crap. I like a more tactical, thoughtful, team based game online and i like my single player games insanely hard and love the COD series for that on veteran difficulty.

Its true though don't you think...

We don't stand a chance against them young fuckers on games like that. Only way i manage is if i tank myself up on redbull and that's not something i want to be doing just to play online.

Battlefield is the thinking man's FPS of choice.

BF is certainly a more tactical and slower-paced affair than COD, but like any other online game I have bad days on COD where I'd probably do better if I put the pad down, and I have good days where I'm an unstoppable killing machine.

I wouldn't say my age has anything to do with it; I'm only 26 after all. If anything, I think I'd be a far better player overall if I weren't partially sighted, regardless of age.

The truth is harsh bud. One of the many reasons why you don't get as many dickwads on BF.

BF3 will be a better game than MW3. No question.

Sales have never reflected quality, look at the music chart for instance!.

I just think of MW3 as a happy meal & Battlefield 3 as a full 3 course meal with all the trimmings.

No offence, but Im picking up a serious undertone of game snobbery here. Because BF: BC 1 and 2 didnt sell as many as CoD, you feel outraged and feel a need to pound on what is and can be still a good game. Heres the thing, it isnt the first time something debately better did worse commercially than something considered to be less good.

MW3 may not be as good as BF3 in some ways, fair enough, no argument. Heres the thing, in some ways, it may actually be better.

Some people are starting to sound like "oh CoD, isnt that what the 'yoof' round the local pool hall play, arnt they ghastly?"

;)
